In addition to fulfilling safety requirements, a venting panel is essential for your natural gas and propane fueled fire pit or fireplace to work correctly. Propane must mix with air prior to combustion for it to burn properly, so air take is essential.
The Skyflame venting panels are also ideal for use in kitchen islands and other places where ventilation is required.
Different Installation Method For Natural Gas & Propane Fueled Ventilation
When it comes to properly ventilating your outdoor kitchen island, placement is everything!
Make sure you install vent panels every 4 to 6 ft to prevent any gases from building up.
The position you need to install each vent panel depends on which type of gas you use.
If use natural gas (NG), make sure to install each vent panel as high as possible on the island as natural gas rises.
And if use propane (LP), make sure to install the vents as low as possible since propane is a heavier gas that sinks.
These types of gases can and will collect in confined areas, making it imperative that an outdoor kitchen be vented correctly to allow these gasses to escape.

These vents are perfect for my needs. They are raised instead of flat though, so you will either need longer screws or have to fashion an insert to screw them to. I cut some 2x4s to length and ripped them down to about an inch then attached those to my island and the vent to that wood... I really like the depth, though because they are not recessed so far in to the stone.

The vents are as described and worked great for our outdoor grill. Only issue is the screws that are supplied are useless, the are maybe 1/2 inch and will not reach past the back of the vents.

Bought 2 of these to mount in our island for outdoor grill ventilation. They look great and our contractor really liked that they have sides for mounting, instead of just the flat face. A huge help for uneven stone veneers.

Used 5 of these for ventilation on a stone outdoor kitchen island. They have held up wonderfully following installation. Clean up from the masonry work was a breeze. Great product.
