Got this to put in the rafter of the barn to drop tie straps to our scooter when we lift it up 18" on a motorcycle lift to work on it. Comes with all you need. Would work well for punching bag of course....

This is a SUPER sturdy punching bag anchor. It comes with all the hardware you need to install it through a single joist, but as you can see from my pictures I had to install it in a double joist, so needed to get some longer bolts. It is rock solid! 5 stars.

Really well made with a nice finish. I have no doubt this is strong enough for my water filled heavy bag. It has a nice swivel and comes with mounting hardware. I think I will get a pair for my hammock too. Recommended.

I feel pretty confident in this bag hanger. The metal is heavy duty.... it's approximately the thickness of 3 stacked quarters (see photo). Also the metal is bent, not welded. There are 3 side bolts which extend all the way through a 2" joist. There are also 2 heavy duty screws that given additional vertical support. My only complaint is the manufacturer doesn't give a working load limit. Just from the thickness and design, I would feel comfortable hanging a full-size water heavy bag or a suspended chair.
