Kester 245 no-clean Cored wire was developed to complement low residue liquid fluxes being used by the electronics industry. The chemistry is based on some of the same principles that have been safely used for years in mildly activated rosin fluxes. The use of 245 no-clean Cored wire results in visually acceptable assemblies without cleaning, yet soldering quality and efficiency is comparable to that obtained with mildly activated rosin flux., country of origin - United States, manufacturer name - Kester.

It's a bit expensive ( i think ). I ordered in the past for the same quantity and almost the same alloy and the same flux for less from QuickChip. The new one from Kester works better but the spooling is very bad. Everything is tangled. Not big of a deal but hopefully everything will be all right after a bit of use.

Great for SMD soldering or for smaller parts in general. It's definitely no-clean.

This is great solder and a good size for basic SMT soldering. I much prefer this Kester No Clean over the standard type 44 rosin core. The date code that arrived was within the last year so this is current stock and not old stock with ancient date codes like some other vendors are selling.

This is the absolute best solder to use.No conductive flux mess to clean up, and the small amount of residue can be easily coated over with board spray.

Outstanding solder for surface mount work. Great flow, clean joints, good Flux and consistent melting point. It works for through hole joints pretty well but it's a bit thin for my liking. .03-.04 is great for it.

Arrived from sender in time indicated. This size is perfect for most surface mounted products as tiny as the 0402 resistors and capacitors. This product has lasted over a year for me, constant use of up to a week per month.Great stuff, I recommended it for all your soldering needs!

This is my second pound of 63/37 .015" Kester solder. The first roll I picked up quite by accident, without consideration as to why I would buy a particular diameter or alloy. It is what they had on the shelf at Fry's when I needed to solder some pieces at home for an electrical engineering class that actually required we build things. (Thank you, Dr. Losh.)For this purchase, the product was much more carefully considered. I chose a very small diameter solder, because that makes it easier to put the right amount of solder on a component: you get 1 pound regardless of the diameter. I specifically chose the 63/37 mix rather than 60/40 because 63/37 goes directly from a liquid to a solid, where 60/40 has an extended plastic state where it can move around but not wet and pieces. It is much easier to a get a cold solder joint with 60/40.
