Great stuff, easy to use. Apply good heat and use like any other solder.

I installed a new set of coils in my house and used this product with a map gas torch to solder lines together. The silver wicks up quickly and fills the joints. Pulled a vacuum with a CPS VG200 micron gauge showing no leaks from soldering. AC works great now that its in the 90's outside and cool 75 inside.

My husband decided that we were going to install our own AC unit and Heat pump when the old one went out. After watching youtube videos and researching what to do, he purchased this and was able to do a great job. He was even able to teach me how to use it.

With the crazy economy we find ourselves, my son and I ended up doing our own AC repair. We replaced our A-Coil and outside condenser unit with all the filters, fittings, etc. We also decided to use the solder with flux method as opposed to the silver rod brazing method. We were successful just before the hot muggy weather overtook our part of the country. This was the solder recommended and it worked just as shown in the youtube posts and worked well for us DIY'ers. We hope our joints we soldered will have integrity for many years. We shall see.

We installed a 4 ton unit and used Stay Brite 8, perfectly. Just need correct preparation. Here some data from Harris:PHYSICAL PROPERTIES:Solidus 221°C (430°F)Liquidus 279°C (535°F)Deposit color – silverShear Strength (copper lap joint) – 10,600 PSIElectrical conductivity (%IACS) – 16.4Density (lbs./cu.in.) – 0.271SOLDERING PROPERTIES:Stay Brite #8 is a lead free solder engineered to provide a strong, ductile connection on copper, brass, steel, and stainless steel. The silver color is also a good color match to stainless steel. Stay Brite #8 differs from Stay Brite as its higher silver content provides a melting range vs. Stay Brite’s single temperature melting point. The melting range makes it suitable for soldering connections with a wider clearance. Stay Brite #8’s low temperature characteristic promotes capillary flow and less base metal distortion and oxidation. Stay Brite #8 is often selected for residential HVAC tube connections as an alternative to brazing.

Used this to install a new compressor in my freezer. Fittings must be snug, no gaps as it flows like water. Spec sheet says it is stronger than the brazing rod and does need to a nitrogen charge since the temps aren't high enough to oxidize the copper inside the tubing. And the lower temps to solder instead of braze does not weaken the copper like brazing can.
