I installed a new sink and wanted the disposal to look nice so ordered these. I didn't really need two, but whatever. They fit my Badger Model 1-87 perfectly. Note that this needs to be installed on the uninstalled disposal. It does NOT just push down into the drain.

This worked perfectly on our Badger 5 in sinkerator. Took about 15 minutes to swap out without any tools. A crescent wrench might be the only thing you need. And a fair amount of strength to get the disposal back on.

I struggled for quite a while with the mounting gasket I bought at the hardware store only to find out that it was too thick to allow the locking ring to engage. Given that the packaging said it fit all Insinkerator Badger models, that was frustrating. But then, mine is original to the house, 21 years old. I found this set after a little internet sleuthing, and sure enough, it worked first try. Less than a 5 minute repair. The package comes with a "regular" and a "deluxe" gasket, but they look pretty similar to me. I used the regular, and since it worked, I didn't try the deluxe. It's a shame you have to buy two to get one that works, but it cost the same as the single wrong gasket from the hardware store, so no huge loss.

I bought a new disposal, the best insinkerator that Home Depot had that day, because I had a basic insinkerator for 20 years, and thought I couldn't go wrong. The disposal has been great, however the drain gasket got pushed with a big load of food, into the grinding area, and was damaged a lot, so I wanted a new one, and this one was NOT it, it is a completely different throat dimension. Why there is more than one, I dont know.

I bought this and took my ISE Pro77 down out of the sink to install it. A royal pain for mine because all of the drain plumbing was glued except for a very little bit at the end and so it was quite difficult to remove the disposal. And the thing is frickin' heavy (a small bottle jack is very helpful if you need to drop it and reinstall it or a new one). But the fun part was yet to come... Once I removed the disposal, the tailpipe connection was so botched up from who knows what (looks like the inside plastic liner had warped all around - see the last pic, ewwww!) that it would have leaked if I put it back together so I had to buy a new disposer! All because I tried to replace the mounting seal. Arrrgggghhhhh!!! :^(Well, my pain is your gain! Had I just used a box knife, X-acto knife or sharp scissors to cut off the torn-up splash flaps of the existing mounting gasket (leave the thick part - 1/8" or 3/16" all around - so the seal stays intact) and just bought the InSinkErator Sink Baffle Quiet Collar Black 77960 instead of this part, I would have saved myself an afternoon and a few hundred bucks. The 77960 seal just pops into the ISE flange from the top and looks awesome! They are a pair that were meant to be together - don't keep them apart any longer! Make sure that your flange says IN-SINK-ERATOR® on it and then feel the bottom near where the existing gasket is. If there's a little indent (see photos of the flange and of the baffle where they fit together), I'm confident that the 77960 part will solve your problem and you don't need to remove the dang disposal to replace it. Now or ever again!Plus, it will be much easier to find that little metal thing (or whatever it was that's making all that racket) that fell into the disposal because the 77960 splash guard just pops in and out. You can look all around in there! SOOOO much easier. That's why they use it on the new "fancy" higher-end Evolution series. Good luck!

This is the best designed gasket for garbage disposals. It allows the water to drain well as well as keep any items or water from splashing out when using the garbage disposal. I used them with a Kenmore garbage disposal (which is an great disposal) which is a perfect fit. The Kenmore gasket is terrible because doesn't let air escape when water is draining so it drains very slow. This was a direct fit on the Kenmore disposal I bought.
