This is just the latest product in my effort to find the best laptop light. There is no on/off switch, so you have to yank it out every time, which is very inconvenient. The light is very bright, and it shines directly in your eyes. even if not directed at you, the screen will glare it at you.

If you bend the light too much, the wires on the inside will break. This is good if you are bending the light once and only once. I'm glad it was shipped with 2 lights in the package. Par at best!

They work for what they are worth but get very hot after a few minutes and take a lot of juice from a battery pack. I would definitely look around and spend more money elsewhere.

Good accessory for working in dark places if your keyboard isn't backlit. Would be five stars if the neck were a bit longer -- it's hard to position the light so that it lights the keyboard without getting glare directly from the light or reflected off the screen. Having said that, the small size makes it easy to leave one of these lights in the backpack so it's always available. This light is super handy, for example, on long overseas flights -- you can work on your laptop in the dark cabin without having to turn on an overhead light (a considerate gesture for the people wedged in on either side of you).UPDATE MAY-2017: I've noticed that this light runs hot. Uncomfortably hot to the touch, and much hotter than I expect with LEDs. Makes me wonder about how long this light will last. Leaving at four stars for now; will drop a star if the light doesn't last.

I work in a office environment and the overhead lighting could be better. The company is very particular about what can be placed at our desks. I have a tough time reading as my already bad vision gets worse but to get a desk lamp would require a consultation with the company ergonomics person and the lamps they provide suck. Bringing in my own full desk lamp is not an option unfortunately.I realized though that my monitors have built in USB hubs on the side so I connected one up and on a goof decided to try one of these lights.It works great! It took me a bit but I discovered if you curl it, it will stay in shape to make the light surface parallel to the desk even though the USB ports are verticle.It's small enough to where it seems to be flying under the radar. No one has said anything. And if it gets stolen or confiscated hey it's only $2 a light and I have another.They are also great in the car, camping, anything.

I love these little lamps. They come in handy and are great for traveling because they're lightweight and compact. The price is awesome, they arrived quickly, and they worked as described. The only complaint I have is that I couldn't really see the other side of my keyboard very well. The lamps do light up one side of the keyboard very well, but the height of the lamp doesn't allow for full keyboard coverage. I am blind in one eye so I need more light....for others it may be sufficient lighting, which is why I still gave five stars. Other than that, this is a wonderful product that works exactly as the description says. One funny story....I was at Best Buy and asked if they carried these lights and none of the sales people had ever heard of them. I explained what they do and the sales people got very excited and said they'd be checking Amazon for them as soon as they could. So, I may have gotten the vendor a few more orders....lol. Anyway, for the price and ease of use, these will come in handy for anyone needing a little extra light on their keyboard.

I bought these for my job at General Motors to test the USB ports in our vehicles. They are very durable and work great. Light is very bright. I bought 6 from someone else and they would short within days. Had these for a month and haven't even opened the second out of the box yet. Highly Recommend.

I was supposed to get the "warm white" version as advertised, but I got cool white. They work great, though they're a bit flimsy. The white light covers fell out, so I had to glue them back in place. Good brightness, they bend OK, and fit nicely in USB jacks.
