These are a lifesaver in the field. All you need is the snake, some solvent and some oil. Perfect for use in the field while hunting or at home after a range day. I have them in every caliber that I shoot.

Hoppes has always, in my opinion, made good gun cleaning kits and chemicals. I bought this bore snake thinking it would work well with my 6.8spc,which is around similar to the calibers the box suggests. It was supposed to fit but it's tight, even with oil on it, it's a bit too snug and hard to pull out, but it works.Maybe I'm just too used to the one I use on my 5.56, also a brand name but pulls through with a lot less effort.

So fast and easy. Spray some lube/cleaner into the barrel and pull through a few times for a sparkling gun barrel.

As shown in the image, this boresnake could not survive even a single pass through a bore which it was supposedly designed for. (7mm Rem Mag) This stands in contrast to my Clenzoil Cobra boresnake which has survived 50+ pass-throughs between 4 different rifles. Both the Clenzoil Cobra brand and the Hoppe's Viper brand sit within the same $10-$15 price point, so the disparity in quality cannot be excused. The Hoppe's Viper boresnake also felt tighter in the barrel and was much harder to pull through the bore than the Clenzoil boresnake. I have no reason to believe that this was a one-off bad product that slipped through the cracks as I have had similar issues with Hoppe's no.9 branded ramrod cleaning sets; from my experience Hoppes no.9 cleaning liquids have been of good quality but their cleaning instruments have been too big, too fragile, and overall poor quality.

Boresnake works great, don't follow the instructions on the case. If you try to pull the cord through with the lead weight attached the weight will pull right off. Wrap the rope around the handle a couple of times and it won't rip... like mine did

Been using these for many years. I love how they're washable and last a really long time. These are my go-to cleaning implements for range trips. I do a more thorough cleaning at home, but at the range these are great for clearing out some fouling or dust if the firearm has been sitting for a while.

Bought this product to clean my rifle. The cord broke on the very first pull through. Do not buy this garbage.
