Unfortunately the threads that screw in the two main pieces of the hi hat connecting the foot with the cymbal stripped upon first use.

Yes it's a low price. But within weeks the threads were failing and stripping, making it unusable. It's probably the lowest of quality available. Better to hold off, spend a little more and purchase a product that will last.

Brother is a drummer and has been for all his life so when finding gifts, i end up buying him stuff he needs for the road. An extra High Hat stand was something I remember him saying so I grabbed this. Its pretty solid and especially at this price. Comes assembled which surprised me, thought it was going to be in pieces. I tested it out and it works and feels smooth. Seems to be a good value and sturdy enough for the road. Will be part of his birthday gifts at the end of the month. As long as he does not look at my reviews, I should be fine

It's easily much lighter than my old hi-hat stand, so that's good for setup and moving, but it does make the stand feel less robust as a result. I haven't had any actual issues with stability or function, it just feels less sturdy.
