Very solid hinge kit, but use your own screws if needed. The two hinges are very thick and move well. i am building a short hidden bookcase to access a small Cape Cod attic space via a hidden storage area. For a half-wall bookcase, I think the weight limit will be fine. It does not come with any instructions, so gotta do some searching on how to install.

The idea is great. I used them on my pantry door. Meterial is good quality one. Except screws. They gave me hell of time working on. You have one time chance with them. They get worn so easily. I also wish to have more direction. For example, Some of other brand sending paper patern to carve exact place. But we figured it out eventually. Generally I will shop with this brand again. Recommend it 👌

This hardware is what you need to build a "hidden door" bookshelf. It's identical to another one I have which was why I ordered this one. I'm making a double-door and needed a matching hinge. Good spec and photos on the ad were helpful in selecting this item. It's painted black and has a nice bearing mounted to the lower pivot. Generally it appears to be heavy duty. There are more screw holes in this than some others I've seen. The included instruction booklet was better than the one I had from before. The kit includes a screwdriver and gloves as shown. I've seen several videos online demonstrating the installation and adjustment of this style of hinge for this application. Depending on your level of woodworking skill and or mechanical aptitude this can be moderately complicated. Results may vary, but the application is simple. I'll be sure to update if I have trouble with the hinges after installation.

I got these to use on a custom outswing patio door I'm building for my sunroom I'm building. I haven't finished the door build yet, but these hinges look super heavy duty. I'm going to mortise the hinge plates into the door and frame to keep clearances tight. It's nice they include all the mounting hardware and even a pair of gloves. I've previously built outswing doors with "hidden hinges" that mortise into the outer edge, but those cost $80+ a pair. These are a much better value, plus they will allow a more linear, and easier to calculate path of travel. The fact they are made of a high grade steel and have roller bearings, I suspect these should hold up for decades. I'll update my review after installation is complete, but my initial impressions are quite good.

I've always dreamed of having a hidden room or secret staircase, and my house has the perfect space— additional area attached to the area beneath the main staircase. My plan is to build bookcases on the current walls with an opening bookcase where the door is right now, creating a secretly opening, hidden door to my hidden room.I wasn’t sure what type of hinges were needed for this kind of installation, but when I found these, I knew they were perfect. They’re made of thick, sturdy metal and built to handle the job. The kit even includes a latch and a pair of gloves, making it a complete set. Now, my secret room is just a weekend project away!
