I purchased these L brackets to build cat shelves, relying on the product description, which states that each bracket supports up to 20 pounds. To ensure stability, I used a minimum of two brackets per shelf, as my cat weighs approximately 15 pounds. However, despite this precaution, the shelves did not hold up under the impact of jumping and landing, causing them to warp and dip into the wall I will need to reinforce them further with additional flat L brackets.That said, these brackets should work well for reinforcing right angles or securing stationary items, but I would not recommend them for applications requiring weight-bearing support under dynamic movement.

I think I’m flirting with the weight limit on these brackets, but they can hold all my heavy books plus the shelf. Pretty good I’d say. Also, including all the necessary screws in the box was perfect. The 20 pack of 8x10’s is a bargain. Photo included.

I have not installed the brackets yet. They seem a little flimsy, but should be ok if I install them closer together.

I was afraid at this price they would be dinky things of poor quality but these are just as good as at Lowes and a whole lot cheaper. Good price!
