In order to get the proper rail length you should order one size longer and then trim it to the proper length. The three ports to screw the rail to the end bracket runs through-out the interior of the rail. Therefore, no matter where you cut the rail, it can still be attached to the end bracket. However, to cut the rail is not as easy as I thought it would be. The metal rail is very hard, but can be cut with a miter saw with a metal cutting blade.My stair has a hand-rail made of 2" x 6" Douglas Fir. I was able to mount the metal hand-rail I from Amazon right on the top edge of the 2" x 6"

Very easy to install and looks fantastic. The diameter size is perfect for a nearly centenarian to grab safely while using the stairs.

This handrail is actually pretty awesome! I love how sturdy it is. I had a handrail leading to my basement and it was extremely flimsy. If you put too much pressure on it, it would bend in the middle and start to creek like it wanted to break. It would also sort of bounce when you tried to use it so it was very dangerous. This new handrail is the complete opposite. It is so sturdy and stable!!!! I can put pressure on it and it does not budge. It was also easy to install. I was able to install it myself and I am not very handy.

Highly recommend!I needed to install a handrail on my new deck to make it ADA compliant. I search around and came upon this product. For the price, this was a steal!I purchased the 18 foot length, eventually putting off about 15 inches to fit my exact requirements.Easy to install, no instructions needed.Solid product, and durable too!

This is a very sturdy handrail. It looks nice now that it's installed.My husband installed the handrail. He knew when he ordered it that one end would not match up with a stud location. The other side of the wall he was putting the handrail on is inside a closet under the main staircase. He had to remove a piece of drywall in the closet in order to attach a piece of 2x4 between two studs. This made a solid way to attach the other end of the handrail. Handrails should never be installed with anchors.I deducted one star due to the extra time needed to install the handrail. Even so it's a good product. It's well made and easy to grip. It feels very safe.
