I bought this as the fan l purchased in close-out sale was missing the remote. Does exactly what it is supposed to do. Not hard on batteries either. Great product.

Unpacked it, checked the dip-switches to make sure they were properly set, put in a battery and the remote worked perfectly for the fan and lights. Couldn't have been easier!

My Hampton Bay remote control for the overhead fan/light broke. We weren't able to fix it. I am so happy to find a replacement online. It works great.

I have moved into a home built in 2007. The previous owners had three ceiling fans with wall controls like this (see image) installed. After taking the control off and reading about it, I realized that the controller did not send a wired signal to control the fan. It uses a wireless (radio) signal. The 120V connection in the wall control only serves to power the radio control signal. With that in mind I wondered if I could add a wireless remote control to these fans. I ordered this Hampton Bay control from Amazon, took out the wall switch to duplicate the dip switch settings on the wall control, and it worked right out of the box. I bought two more controls and they worked right away as well on my other fan. So if you have the wall switch that looks exactly like the one in the picture, I believe it is https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09YWF89D5?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details …then it should be compatible with this Hampton Bay remote and the wireless receiver in the fan. Easy hack to upgrade the functionality!

I am really pleased that this product works exactly as it should. Some of the buttons on our original 16 year old remote had stopped working because it was dropped too many times. The remote was carefully packaged and arrived in perfect condition. It includes a bracket which can be attached to the wall (mounting hardware is not included).Be sure to set the DIP switches on the new remote to the match the receiver. On the remote the DIP switches are accessed through the battery compartment. If you have not touched the DIP switches on the old remote then just set the switches on the new remote to the same positions. If you need to access the receiver it is located on the ceiling fan mounting bracket. It can be accessed by removing the cover that fits to the ceiling. With the power off (to be safe turn off the breaker) carefully slide the receiver out of the bracket to access the DIP switches which should be on the downward facing side. Simply note the positions and set the switches on the new remote to match. When purchasing a replacement remote be careful to select one that has the exact same functions as your original. In this case I needed one with three fan speeds, a down light, and an up light. Other remotes look similar but the buttons have different functions.

This product works exactly as advertised. What you get: - A Hampton Bay branded remote control - Wall mount plateThe good: - Compatible with Hampton Bay ceiling fan receivers. - Three fan settings, plus off. - Lights On/Off. - Light dimmer. Your fan receiver needs to be able to dim the lights. This function is not available on mine, so I have not tested. The bad: - Nothing, it worked great!Bottom line: - This is an excellent and inexpensive replacement for Hampton Bay ceiling fans. Many other fan receivers will more than likely also work fine with it, but I've only tried it on my own. - If you still have your old remote, make sure to match the 4 pins from the DIP switch to what's on your remote. If you don't have the remote then you'll need to partially dismount your ceiling fan to find out what your fan's receiver is set to. - IF YOU DON'T HAVE A FAN RECEIVER already then this product is probably not for you since it is just the remote. You'd need to buy a separate receiver. - Takes a standard 9V battery.I bought this remote to replace the one that came with my Hampton Bay fan. I bought it a few years ago and it tends to run down its batteries (A23) way too fast. I'd go through 4 batteries or so per season. I have an identical unit in one of the bedrooms upstairs and its remote does not have this issue.Since I didn't want to take the whole fan down and repackage just for the remote, I simply dealt with it until I got fed up with having to replace its batteries.
