The precision tip enables me to reach places on the PCB the my old tips had not been able to reach. Some oxidation build-up, but the oxidation never reaches the tip, as long as it is tinned properly, ensuring consistent temperature throughout.

It’s a Hakko! Good product, but their pricing can be high. If you are a professional, you know that Hakko is about as low as you go for good quality equipment. This tip is exactly as advertised. Great for working on small components. Just wish the tip was about $15 cheaper.

I am a certified per J-STD-001/IPC-A-610 solder operator and solder inspector with long time hands on experience, including soldering small SMT components.I use the Weller WXMP micro solder pencil with RT 1NW tip (R0.1mm) at work. Comparing to this Hakko tip, the Weller one is worse for me - it tends to get the solder drop up.Also I have to replace the Weller tips pretty often soldering at 700°F. My other Hakko solder tip seems stays forever (3 years already) at the same 700°F, I expect this tip to be the same. I prefer to use Hakko as a brand for high end soldering (small components, conformal coated components, etc.), period. At my new job we use brand new Metcal dual soldering station, I would still trade it for my Hakko FM-2032 setup anytime, period.

I do board-level repair on iphones. This tip works great. temp off set is accurate, fit in hand piece was perfect and the tip was strong and dissipated thermal transfer way better than wellers offering. Im just a working guy so I cant tell you how it compares to JBC equipment but if you used to use chinese knock-offs or weller, believe me when i tell you this tip will save you from bridges and pulling pads. so is it worth the $$, considering this tip costs as much most of our 1st stations? yeah hit the button and get it. you wont regret it.the second you touch your work with this gem, you will think you underpaid and got over on Hakko.
