These are small watering globes which release a drip of water over time (until empty) and can keep small plants moist and happy for a few days.The design is great and the quality is also quite good. They are made of glass but seem to be pretty sturdy and not too delicate to use.There are no instructions with these, just a box (not particularly giftable for that reason) but it's easy to figure out. Put the waterer under a stream of water and it will fill quickly with a few ounces of water. When you turn it over, it will not leak out (similar to a dropper) and you place the straw end into the soil near the roots of your plant.It looks pretty in the pot ( a multi colored bird) and you can easily see when the water has been exhausted through the glass.

Have you any idea how many African violets I have murdered? Neither have I. I lost count decades ago. I have this horrible problem of forgetting to water until it's just too late.These glass watering globes or birds rather, are a genius solution. The slow water so in a small pot these should last weeks, just enough to save my plants. They are easy to use, Just fill them up with water and then stick that opening in the soil. They do the rest.I recommend these for turning a black thumb into a green thumb.

The birds are adorable in my plants and they're a great size. The color however, applied to the outside of the glass. The glass is clear. Not what I was expecting but they're cute nonetheless.

I received my three darling glass watering birds.They arrived surrounded in thick foam and all were 100% intact.I adore the two rainbow gradient birds, plus the electric blue bird.They all look swell in the sun; what a cute addition to my garden pots.The birds each hold the LEAST amount of water at about 100ml = 3.4 ounces when compared to the other shapes.The first time I used them, I noticed that all three emptied out quickly after placement into dirt.Then I read the directions on the listing.The trick to these working as described is WRAPPING THE WATER OUTLET WITH A CLOTH AND SECURING WITH A RUBBERBAND.Cheesecloth or an old, thinner sock will work.Placing the birds at 90 and 70-degree angles then determines the speed of water emptying.
