Works great. Every potted plant should have one.

I like this watering system, especially being able to use recycled liter or smaller bottles. It saves on daily watering and really helps during dry periods. The problem is that after a couple of seasons the silicon washers deteriorate and I can't find replacements. The company doesn't provide contact info with the stakes and attempts to find them on line hasn't worked - they either don't have a web site or they don't make it public. Nor have I found washers of the right dimensions elsewhere - not at any of the local big chain hardware stores, and not on line. Rubber hose washers fit the diameter but they're too thick for the threads to get a good grip on the bottle. I've had some success manually shaving them down but that's ridiculous and dangerous. Using the bottles without a washer results in leakage, pretty much defeating the purpose. It's frustrating. The stakes deserve more than a single star rating but I'm hoping to get the company's attention. With any luck they track the bottom ratings and respond with customer service, as some companies do. I'd very much like to continue using these stakes but without slicing a finger open trying to jimmy oversized washers.Edit 06/03/24: I was finally able to find and reach the company and they graciously sent replacement washers. They were quick to respond and now I can use the spikes again ☺. With any luck they'll make the washers available through their sellers. Anyway, shifting my rating from one to five stars.

They work but plants still wilt in the summer but I’m also in the south. Definitely not as a great as I hoped they would be. I also found multiple water bottles don’t work with them, but the “smart water” bottles do work

I really like the brand name Plant Nanny watering stakes as they work well and they are good sizes. Have tried others and to date haven't found anything as good.

Simple idea - works well - the recycled 2 litre bottles seem to topple over a bit so maybe use the 1.5 litre

Great for a week away, so plants are watered.

The way this works is that the roots of plants in the pot where the Plant Nanny terra cotta stem is buried grow toward it and imbibe water that diffuses very slowly through the porous material. Once the system is established, after a few weeks, one refill of the bottle will last for 10-14 days. Ideal for potted plants at home or work, especially when nobody is going to be around for a while to water. Remarkable how little water is required to keep plants thriving. Never under- or over-water. I have kept a large succulent alive in my office for 3 years with one device and am now starting to use them in other locations.

I use 2L pop bottles in these. They work very well. Ideal for use in pots so your plants don't wilt. I still water them every day. The water does leak out a bit but with some adjustment, the water flow stabilizes.

These are fabulous and exactly what I needed to keep my plants watered while I am away. I got them before leaving for a week's vacation in the middle of July. It gets brutally hot here in the summer, and I was worried about my outdoors container garden dying completely during my time away. These kept all my plants alive AND beautiful! I know there are some reviews on here that say the bottles seemed to drain too quickly and are empty in a couple days. Since these arrived a bit before I had to leave, I played around with them and discovered you can help avoid that problem by making sure the stakes get very wet with a good plant watering (water into the stake too!) before you then stick the filled up bottles in. Also, make sure the stakes are completely down into the soil so they don't dry out. The material likes to be wet itself so it can keep distributing water to the plant and it will keep pulling from the bottle if it's getting dried out (like, say, from a lot of exposure to sun and heat, so push it down in there!) Also, in order to avoid the breakage some reviewers mentioned on here I "screwed" these down into the soil instead of pushing them straight down. All in all, I love these and probably will get some more at some point since they are so wonderful.

I expected this to work more like the pretty watering globes that water a plant slowly. That is not the case. The water will leach out in about 3-4 days so the soil stays moister than I expected. BUT MY PLANTS LOVE IT. Since this set accommodates liter bottles I only use them with my larger plants where leaves can hide the bottles better. Although the water goes out faster then I expected I still find I can go up to 2 weeks without refilling them unless the house is exceptionally dry (during the winter). I do recommend these. Not as nice looking as watering globes but the upside is they are very fast to use. Watering globes are time consuming to clean and refill each time they empty. Also, these will not clog easily as can happen with the globes. You must however, be careful in inserting the clay stake in a way that will hold the bottle level . Also, it is best to moisten the soil the first time you set them up to avoid cracking them. After that you only pull out the adaptor each time you refill the bottle. But the point of it all is for the plants and they are thriving as there is a lot less drying out between watering. The plant nanny does its job and takes very good care of my large plants.
