I used them to remove axel snap rings on a f-350. They worked fine, kind of light duty china but would be good for the average user.

Tried to remove the outer snap ring on the front of an F550 4x4. Thought they might work without having to remove the dual tire adaptor. Did not have enough squeeze to release the large snap ring I was trying to remove. I can see it working fine for smaller snap rings.

Buy it! Totally worth every cent. A solid, precise, robust and durable tool.Im not a amazon afficionado and dont come back here to write reviews. In this case I had to, because tho i was expecting a cheap (40CAD !!!) pliers, flimsy etc this one proved me wrong.

Let me start by saying, I own other GearWrench products that are great. This is no the case with these snap ring pliers. I bought these to remove a hard to reach snap ring on the drive shaft of my John Deere 2305. I used the Green angled tips for this removal. After removing the snap ring successfully I noticed one of the tips looked slightly bent. On installing the reinstalling the snap ring that same tip broke before I could get the ring back into the groove. I decided to try the smaller angled tips and one of the tips instantly broke. The hex portion of the smaller tip would go into the ring opening, so I managed to get the ring installed. This snap ring is only about 1.5" across and doesn't require that much force to open.

This is well built. I will only be using it a couple times a year but it has been a life saver for the hard to reach areas.

Work as advertised, however the handles should be a little stronger, I had a very thick snap ring on my F250 that was giving me problems and these were not the answer, the damn handles bend under the force it required to remove the snap ring so I was back to the store to find a more stronger pair
