The ice maker in our 17 year old GE side-by-side went out and I found the correct part number (replacement) her on Amazon at a lower price than other stores / shops. It was delivered in a few days with full instructions on how to install. Very easy DIY installation and the new ice maker works perfectly.

12 year old fridge and ice maker quit working. Tried all the usual you tube possible fixes, and came to conclusion that the ice maker needed replacement. Bought this one ( there appear to be several types under this part number ) and I matched up the pictures with what I have and bought it. Took about 15 minutes to remove the old one and take some stuff off the old one and put it on the new one. First time I installed I failed to make sure that the water filler tube on the fridge fed into the reservoir properly. Sprayed water all over the place. Totally my fault. I fixed that and it works like a charm. Original GE replacement part. Easy to remove old one and install new one

MY ice maker went out about 6 weeks ago. I kept trying to figure out how to get it going and finally bought this item. It was much harder to plug in than expected which took us a very long time to finally get it in. The instructions report that you need to remove the striker plate on the new one and replace with your older one which looked hard to do and was not in any videos that I watched. On postmortem, the old ice maker had a broke piece of the striker plate blocking function. Needless to say, I didn't change the striker plate out and the ice maker is currently working better than the original ever did. We did manage to lose the original plastic nut on the left of the ice maker in trying to get the plug installed which makes me wonder why the hell they don't include a spare in the new kit. We cut up an old silicone watch band to make up the space as it must be level to work. Also, don't forget that if you have the side by side frig like we do, you will need to keep the funnel like piece where the water flows to the ice make as the space it has to travel is much greater than the replacement piece. It was well worth it to replace the ice make and this machine is an excellent replacement. I am keeping my old ice maker for parts if we have trouble in the future as I am pretty sure it is fully functional once I removed the striker plate piece that was blocking the little arm that pushes the ice out. BTW we also replaced the water valve on the back before we did the ice maker replacement which was also more difficult than expected as all the little bolts were different sizes. I do strongly recommend this particular replacement as it functions well, make good ice cubes. It will be more like your GE frig original than the after market ones.

Writing reviews is not something I often do, this time, I feel it necessary. Please don't spend $100's or even near a thousand dollars on an appliance repair company to replace your ice maker when you can do it yourself for a fraction of the cost with essential tools and 15 minutes of your time.Although it may be okay to purchase and install an aftermarket unit, OEM is better for the longevity of your appliance. Installation took 15 minutes. Our french door fridge with a freezer in the bottom half requires the door and all trays to be removed, including the ice tray and the deflector. The instructions are clear. If you prefer to watch a video, several are available on YouTube. Since this ice maker fits several models, your steps and additional tools to replace the unit may vary.Tools:-flat screwdriver-portable light-rachet setBasic Instructions:-turn off the power to the fridge-remove all trays-loosen both hex bolts securing the unit to the fridge (do not remove the screws!)-life ice maker and pull it towards you gently-unclip the pin connector-plug in new ice maker pin connector-install the new unit (make sure its level)-tighten hex bolt-re-install trays, doors etc.-turn the power onMy ice maker started within the hour. The next day, the tray was filled.I saved $500 by doing it myself; you can too!

Couldn't be happier with it. This baby puts out the ice. My fridge was new in 2005. Model GE Profile™ PSS26SGRBSS ENERGY STAR® 25.5 Cu. Ft. Stainless Side-by-Side Refrigerator with Dispenser. The circuit board failed and I replaced with one from Amazon and wrote a review on that. It was a perfect replacement at great price. Same with ice maker. My original ice maker model (directly from the old ice maker) was 200D1181G013 WR30X10044 model CAN17. When the circuit board failed I was also dealing with a leaking ice maker. After much diagnosis I found it was leaking from the thermister cutout in the mold right which is right up against the white plastic housing of the unit. I jury rigged it with white DAP but after a few months it started leaking again but not as bad. I decided to replace it anyway since the teflon coating of the mold had deteriorated after 15+ years. If you research these ice makers you will find some "experts" say you will have to replace the unit every 5 years or so because the teflon coating eventually wears awary exposing the molds metal which then starts to etch away and even marks the ice with small metal specs—ugh! So I replaced it with this unit which is “almost” identical but not quite; neverthelesss, it is the correct replacement for my unit and works like a charm. Buying it from Amazon saved money also. Very, very pleased with all aspects of this purchase. This is a follow up 1 year after installation. This unit produces ice which is what it was designed to do. I love that it works so well. Like other reviews have written, this design does not work well at shutting off when the bin is full. So what, I still love it though it is a shame this aspect of the design is faulty.

Working great. Just as good as the original ice maker. It was a tight fit for our GE side by side but after removing ice bucket, auger motor and side tracks it fit.

I couldn't be happier with this GE WR30X10093 kit. While it doesn't look exactly like the original in my early 90s GE fridge (or the first aftermarket replacement I tried), it is a perfect form/fit/function replacement. A simple wiring adapter was included for my round-style plug, and there was an adapter for my rear mounted filler tube. The mounting bracket was the same, as was the overall size/shape. Installation was easy with 1/4 inch nutdriver (I tucked the longer electric cable between the icemaker and fridge, looped up between the two mounting screws). Operation and quality of ice cubes has been quiet/excellent.I originally went with another popular (and much less expensive) aftermarket replacement, also bought through Amazon (not hard to find my review on that one). It worked well for about a year, before developing a terrific grinding noise, and erratic performance. Of course, it was out of warranty by then. After taking a closer look at the others' reviews for that one, my failure should have been predictable. That's why I decided to pay more for a genuine GE branded replacement.Time will tell on this one. The original GE icemaker (part of IM2 kit) lasted for about 20 years. Hopefully, this will be my last replacement.

Works well, install was a bit finicky. No light to indicate 'on' like the original.
