My only mistake was not buying these earlier. Drop the knockoffs to enjoy easy boring and quick bit changes. Only drawback is the material removal is much slower if you are drilling at an angle once the bit starts to exit the wood. I don't know why but it is noticeable.

Freud contacted me and is replacing the mandrels. DO NOT BUY from Amazon, only from an authorized Freud dealer. I am very pleased with their efforts to make this right.They are difficult to put together and take apart, especially the drill bit - it is very hard to get out of the mandrel. But the worst part? Opened my new case, started drilling my first hole in 23/32" plywood and snap, the mandrel broke off. Second one lasted only a few seconds, same thing. No nails, saw blade never hooked up, just snap. Two local hardware stores don't have replacements so I am screwed. Save yourself the heartache and buy something else. My 17 piece kit is now 19 pieces and useless.

Excellent product, easy to snap on and off , nice clean holes in timber, only used it once in aluminum, leaves a nice finish, I didn't buy for plumbing use, I bought because I wanted the sizes. You won't be disappointed in this product!

This set is so versatile that I ended up buying a set for my step-son who is remodeling a house. If one of the more common sizes gets dull you can purchase a single replacement without difficulty

After years fumbling through all my mismatched hole saw bits I finally got me this set. Wish I had years ago. The bits themselves are very sharp and I can see them lasting a long time, cuts right though sheet metal and wood like butter so far. The case they come in make it nice and portable and I can keep all of them together. The quick connects are just amazing and make it super easy to switch from bit to bit. Highly recommend. Diablo is made by Freud, a very reputable company
