Had to make 8 holes in my stucco covered patio. Went right thru it even the metal mesh

Man this hole saw drew through the ceiling like it was butter. Understand that I wasn’t drilling thru typical drywall. It’s an old house in RI so instead of drywall they used a compound similar to cement and behind that is wood ferrings. Drilled through all of it in one second.

Ate through 1/2" of stucco with the chicken wire backing like butter. Exactly what I needed.

I’m in the process of changing old 70’s lighting to wafer LED lights. My ceiling is two ½” sheets of drywall sandwiching an electrical heating lathe, plus a generous ¼” of plaster for that “gorgeous” textured ceiling finish. I bought $50 bimetallic hole saw blades and by the end of the first hole noticed a decrease in cut speed. After 3-4 holes it was done. This hole saw ripped through my beastly ceilings in 10 seconds. Absolutely game changing. I’ve done 5 holes and it cuts just as fast as the first did. I have 4 left to do and I’m highly confident I saved close to $100 using this over typical bimetal blades. Plus all the time and effort. I’m very satisfied. I can see why some people felt like the set screw for the drill bit guide was inadequate. I really torqued it down but I can see how it might slip. I didn’t have any problems.

The screw that sets the drill bit was defective. I had to purchase a replacement screw at the hardware store. The saw cut through stucco like butter. Fast and effective.I used this bit to drill through a stucco wall. I installed a Carlon 1-Gang 18 cu. in. PVC Round Old Work Electrical Box in the hole created. The fit was too loose, so I purchased the 4 inch version of this saw and the hole size was was perfect.

This thing is heavy and looks and felt solidly made. That’s where it stops. The chuck system on this is poorly designed and the machining of the arbor is not within tolerance for maintaining a solid connection to the chuck. The pins constantly fall out and after 20 or so revolutions the entire system fails to hold together and must be retightened. I would not recommend this to anyone unless safety is of no concern.

I bought this saw to vent a basement bathroom exhaust fan to the the outside. The exterior of the house is an inch thick stucco with about 3 1/2 inches of wood behind it. The saw went through all of it like a hot knife through butter!!! I was amazed how easy and fast this saw cut through it all and is still in great condition. I highly recommend this saw!

Purchased this instead of a diamond grit holesaw since I rarely need a 4” hole but it performed better then expected. Was expecting to cut 3 holes before I see it starting to fall apart. But it cut through all holes in 3coat stucco like a champ and still looks like it pretty much just came out of the box. So for cinder block and stucco applications this seems like a good budget substitute for diamond grit.
