I really wanted to like this flush cutter. Unfortunately that's not the case. Upon receipt of this flush cutter I mounted it into my router table and proceeded to make some test cuts. I used it on plywood, hard maple and pine. It was a very poor performer on the plywood. The resulting cut was extremely rough. I did adjust my router speed both up and down and tried several various pieces of scrap plywood that came from different sheets and the results were always the same with a rough edge. The cuts were much smoother on the pine and the hard maple. However there is a ridge that the bit left where there must be a slight defect in the cutting edges of this bit. The ridge was not super dramatic, and could easily be sanded out, but I don't want to have to do that when I'm using a flush cutting bit.Maybe I received a defective bit, however, I cannot recommend this bit.

I've had some very bad luck with "imported" router bits not being straight/true. (I know, Freude and Bosch are imported, but you know what I mean). I took a chance on this one, because the length and multi-cutter is exactly what I need for a duplication project (and I don't have a CnC).

With a total of 14 carbide cutting surfaces and an open fluted spiral design to drive chips downward, this will be the bit I turn to next time I'm cutting a pattern with my trim router. Even though it looks like the blades are arranged in a spiral, this will NOT shear cut like a spiral bit. The blades are aligned vertically with the shaft of the bit. The carbide edges ARE very sharp and seems to be well made. For right now, I'll give it a 5. If over time I find it to be less than satisfactory, I'll update my review.

I have had plenty of flush cutters before, but they have never had the multiblade design as this one has. Its a 1/2" chuck and is bigger then my others but has a good bearing on the end. In use the multiblade design seemed to work great! I was wondering if I would notice a difference but really didnt. Just flushed it out like most cut well and I had no chipping. Great bit!
