These hog ring pliers are great. They grip the ring very good because of the spring that is in there. I use them for making fish traps, and they work very well, and crimp the rings tightly.

Use on installing new car seat cover with 1/2 and 3/4 inch rings The combination set worked great.

I will give 0 star if I can, totally waste money. The tool not even make by gearwrench, just some no name cheap stuff. The groove for the hog ring is not even there. The other Angle one not even has spring in there. Totally waste money and time.

Only the angled ones work. Straight ones won't hold the hog ring.

Bought five sets already. And I will likely buy more if I keep misplacing these pliers. I add drip lines to my beds all the time and for those repairs of the 90-degree inserts, these pliers are sublime! I can use them for other connections, but for that one connection I have found no other pliers that work as well. These are priceless tools for me and small enough and light enough I can put them into a cargo pants pocket and carry them with me. Usually I use both of them for one connection.

I purchased these pliers for a project to reupholster my car seats with leather skins. Using Youtube as a guide, the angled pliers were mentioned multiple times as a better choice than a straight type. The drake set came with both (straight and angles heads) and I am a true believer that the angled pair was worth the price.Easy to use and now I have another useful tool in my box that can be used for fences, upholstery or other items as needed.

They seem like the typical cheap China offered tools and I don't need a tool for daily use so I got these thinking if I get only the straight ones I will end up needing the bent ones and if I get only the straight ones I will not be able to get into the places I can with the bent ones. Not disappointed at all they do not feel cheap at all and they are exactly what the description says they are. I would recommend them to anyone who needs something for hobby or maybe even daily.

Needless to say I know my stuff about cars and seemed to have done it all, and now I have. I was replacing seats leathers and when taking them apart I found that I needed a hog ring tool. Hmmm, didn't have it and no one local did either as it was "special order" and it was Friday afternoon to boot. So I ordered the pair based on reviews stating the curved was better, etc, etc, etc.... That is not the case for me. I actually did one seat back with the curved and the remainder with the straight, neither seemed to have an advantage over the other. Also, I am ambidextrous so I used both in both hands which rules that out. The only gripe I have is that I could not get new rings themselves at the same speed as the tool, so with that I reused the rings and it just took longer to bend them back into shape first. All in all they worked as I had hoped and to be able to get them here overnight on Saturday for less than $40 was cool too. I think I am done with interior parts for now and will go back to fabrication where I much prefer to be. Needless to say when a friend wants me to "help"... sure.... here is the tool!

I'm restoring an old car and decided to give a try at some upholstery work. I bought a full set of custom fit covers but needed the tools. Basically the only things you need are the Hog Ring Pliers, hog rings and a pair of diagonal cutters to bend the old rings off. I did some research and decided to give this set a try. Both the curved and straight came in handy, because I was amazed at some of the places they had hog rings. The set is very sturdy and the spring feature to hold the rings in the jaws while getting them in place was great. The price for the set was less than one pair on other websites, and I had them in less then a week. I was a bit concerned because of the price, but not the case, they are well worth it.PS: Hog rings recommended here were way to expensive with shipping. You can do better.

I ordered these pliers after using an inexpensive pair that finally broke. I have crimped hundreds of rings with them and have found them to be good quality. The only thing I noticed is after a lot of use, the plastic hahdle is begining to slip around a little. I found the bent nose to be much more useful than the straight nose but either work very well.
