These will cut away the mortar between brick . For me the only drawback is that they don’t cut deeply enough.

Worked for about 24 inches of cut length, then it stopped plunging. When I checked the tip all of the grit was worn off. I had better luck with standard rotary wood rasps from HF. They have a variety of shapes and at 6 to a package they cut farther. Dont use high speed tool. Cuts best with 1000 to 2000 rpms.

I had to remove some loose bricks that had some old, cracked mortar in a garden pathway. This raking bit removed the mortar nicely and I was able to set the bricks back in to the path with relative ease. I’m not sure how much more I would use this bit, but it did serve the purpose and looks like the diamond coating is still in good condition if I need to use it again.

Well, it worked. I was able to dig the grout out for a tile replacement chore. However, it wasn't easy on the first try. The mandrel is a hex drive 3/8 (probably 10mm really), and first thought was to chuck it in a hand drill. It turned out to be hard to control in a conventional drill motor (pistol configuration). Fortunately, I had a pneumatic right angle drill motor, and that made it much easier to control. Better yet, I think would have been a 1/4" mandrel that could have been chucked in a die grinder. Since the actual bit is screwed onto the mandrel, (5/8-11), perhaps there's a 1/4" mandrel available, but not in my toolbox. I am happy that it worked, being my first attempt at replacing floor tile.

To get the grout from in-between tiles' cracks there are only few tools that could be used in order to do that. This is one such tool. You can also use a grinding wheel where you can access the grout that way. You can scrape with a scraper as well. This tool is great for small areas and for the corners where it is hard to get to with other tools. It is also great for a starter hole (or slot) making. You don't need to have an SDS drill with this tool--a regular drill would work. You could either install the drill adapter or use the bit without the included adapter straight on the side of the grinder.
