Handy size knife.. fits well in a front pocket.. I put grip tape on the handle and melted paracord around the finger ring. I honed it to make it a bit sharper than it arrived but I don't mind that. The sheath is cheap plastic.. retains ok but rattles and is not easy to mont a clip. With a combo of grip and duct tape I mostly resolved the rattle . Ideally this would have a clip or angled horn that would allow you to slip it in your front pocket and when the blade is pulled the clip would catch on the pocket leading to quick deployment. This would have been super easy and cheap to mold and would have made this a bigger hit. Overall I'm happy with the blade and have rigged the sheath to be acceptable for now.

The knife is ok. Extremely lightweight and made of a seemingly decent steel with surprizingly functional ergonomics, but there are some serious issues. The grind is sloppy, but not nearly as sloppy as the sheath, which is genuinely unacceptable. I cannot believe Cold Steel have made this knife for this long and not corrected this atrocious sheath. The fit is so poor that I question how the people responsible for making it still have a job. There is so much space that the knife is just sloppy and flopping around rattling constantly even with just slow paced light movement. At half the price the knife itself would be worth it, but due to the price, finish, and especially the sheath, I will be returning this and buying 5 knives direct from china. Likely that 2 or 3 will be better quality.

Listing says Japan, description says Japanese, everything on the page says Japanese. I have one of these that is Japanese, I liked it so much I went to order another one. This one came in and the fit and finish is off on the handle, I noticed the case isn’t as nice as my other one either. I then realized the blade says china on it… the seller is lying about where it’s made.

I wanted a 3.5" legal, low pro boot knife that had a rear ring and wasn't $250.This thing was almost perfect right off the bat, aside from needing epoxy on the "handle." The plastic pieces can fly off.The hard sided sheath locks the blade in quite well, but wiggles annoyingly tbh. prolly an easy fix, case allows you to lace the knife into your boot for hunting and hiking.Perfect knife for the price.I'm buying one or two more and the smaller version as well.

The knife arrived quickly and according to the Amazon shipping schedule. True to most all Cold Steel products, it was well made and visually pleasing. The blade is full tang and of decent length, sharp out if the box, and the hole on the end of the grip gives you a very secure way of retaining and controlling the blade which is important because of the extremely thin profile of the handle. This all factors into the very light weight of the knife and makes it, along with the low price, for me, the perfect neck knife. I have attached a length if 550 cord with adjustable knots to enable me to wear it comfortably. The steel of the knife retains a decent edge which is very easy to maintain. Finally, the light weight and thin profile of the sheath and knife together makes it very easy to conceal. Once you put it on it is barely noticeable, to you or anyone else. Recommended

To the people complaining that this seems cheap, it’s a $20 something knife. For that $20 something, you get a sharp, strong, light, simple knife that has nearly endless utility and is surprisingly ergonomic. If you want fancy handles, you’re not looking in the right place.

This is a piece of beautiful Japanese cutlery. It’s a very simple design but extremely functional. The aus 8a blade steel is easy to sharpen and takes a razor edge. It’s bigger than it seems but not overly bulky. The sheath is sleek, just like the knife, and adds to its design. The two small holes on the top of the sheath are a bit smaller than the holes on the Cold Steel bird and trout so a chain necklace won’t fit through. That’s most likely the reason it did not come with a chain. The knife can be held in many different positions. The sheath does not come with a mounting point, but cold steel makes good C clip that can be bought separately. This knife really is versatile. The blade thickness and geometry make it good for any task.
