This is the model that started it all. After designing the RAT-3 for Ontario Knife Company, it was the first design we brought over when ESEE Knives (Formerly RAT Cutlery) was formed. The ESEE-3 is still a favorite among law enforcement and military teams due to its light weight, thin profile and various sheath options.
Care/Maintenance: ESEE carbon steel knives made from 1095 steel. 1095 is a top choice for professional cutlery designed for hard use, it will rust and stain if not properly cared for, especially on the cutting edge and around the laser engraving. It's the user's responsibility to keep the blade properly lubricated and cleaned.

ESEE knives are an outstanding addition to your collection, with one of the BEST WARRANTY out there Simply No Questions asked! As the title says, ESEE makes these knives, but they test them and use them everyday, to make sure the customer gets the best of the best. ESEE Customer service is OUTSTANDING, they have answers when you need them, support and absolute professional mindset. This tool felt comfortable in hand with no hot spots, comes sharp out of the box, comes with a kydex sheath able to carry scout style, or on belt - left or right side, it's spring steel clip has good retention and will last a very long time. I HIGHLY recommend ESEE and all thier products. Get one today! Also comes with a survival card to help with basic field information to survive in difficult times.

I wear this horizontally on the belt by using paracord cleverly applied to the holes. Woulda been good if they had a pivoting/rotating kydex belt clip, but oh well. The blade is superb and was razor sharp, the grip is nearly full but thin to wear along waistline which was great. Fit and finish is superb, colors are slick, just gotta figure out how to get all the finish off the steel so I can blue it. I hate when i have coated blades that just bind on the coatings after cutting, batoning, etc.

This is about the perfect size fixed blade for many reasons. Obviously ESEE’s lifetime warranty is excellent, but the ergo’s on this thing are wonderful. Easy to carry. Sharp out of the box as you’d expect. Very happy with this one.

First off This is a very well built ,high quality, mass production made in the USA knife . I very well think this knife would be the perfect EDC knife if the blade stock was thicker. Out of all the ESEE brand knifes this is the thinnest blade out of the lot. The Izula, and Izula 2 is a thicker stock and a substantially smaller blade, I don’t get it….? The rounded scales are a huge upgrade to the ESEE lineup. The scales fit perfectly in hand , this model the scales seem a bit thinner also ( I plan on adding some 1mm liners and that will fix this issue) Asides from the above stated issues this is a great knife and I plan on using it as my main EDC blade. The plastic sheath is well built and not big and bulky , and will work fine if you do not intend on purchasing an aftermarket sheath. If your on the fence , I would recommend buying it . It’s worth the price tag for a made in the USA blade, and the no questions asked warranty you truly can’t beat it.* images that are attached show size and blade stock COMPARISMENT .

What's not to love about an ESEE knife? This is the second knife I've bought from them and it will not be my last. This one is just about perfect for what I got it for - having a relatively small knife on hand for hunting or hiking. The mikarta handle makes the knife a bit heavier than I would like, but it is well made and I love the color. Also, I could easily swap the handle out for a lighter version. I guess the only thing I don't love is how the sheath sits on my hip when worn on a belt (it sits too high and close to my abdomen). The sheath is really well designed to attach to a pack system - but not so much for a traditional style of carry. Yes, it does come with a belt clip but that adds considerable weight. I tried finding a leather sheath for this knife but the pickings are scarce on Amazon.
