I bought this after hearing it mentioned on the Hornady Reloading podcast as a product they use daily to clean their $$$$ pressure test barrels.By tradition I've always used Hoppes solvent and a lot of brushing to remove copper fouling.This removed all visible copper from my 6.5 Grendel barrel after wet patching and allowing it to soak 15 minutes; a couple more wet patches until they came thru clean, then a few dry patches, a damp Ballistol patch and a final dry patch

It works really well for routine barrel cleaning. It's step one for me and no odor is great.

This is the best bore cleaner I've ever used, especially for copper fouling. It dissolves copper so well that brass jags and bronze brushes will deteriorate with this cleaner. It will look like your boar isn't getting clean. I switched to a plated jag and a nylon brush. This cleaner is so good that a brush is barely necessary.

The first rifle I cleaned with this solvent was a 1917 Gewehr 98 that I just purchased, before I shot it. Plenty of copper fouling came out and the bore is now very clean. That seemed to be a good first trial for the solvent (although the bore on the rifle looked shiny when I got it).My first impression was that there was zero odor! I can actually use this inside without my wife yelling at me about the smell :)Next, I tried this on one of my existing rifles that was previously cleaned with my usual ammonia based solvent. I cleaned and stored the rifle after the last time I shot it, albeit not with too many rounds through it last time. I ran 4 wet patches through the bore as directed, then scrubbed with a nylon bore brush about 15 passes. Sure enough, I got plenty of blue coming out on the subsequent dry patches I ran through it. I ran 4 more wet patches through the bore, let it soak 5 to 7 minutes, and finished with more dry patches. It was clear to me that my previous cleaner got the bulk of the powder fouling out of my bore, but some copper apparently remained, as shown on the patches.My final impressions:This is an excellent solvent! It doesn't stink, clears powder fouling, and does an excellent job removing copper. They make another copper specific formula that may be even better for really heavy copper fouling, but overall, I think this is a great cleaner for powder/copper in general. I'm very curious to see if my rifles shoot more accurately after thoroughly cleaning with this product.Another review mentioned a comparison between this and JB bore compound, and I would agree that JB probably pulls out even more fouling, but that does take some elbow grease and a little time, but I agree with him that the mild abrasiveness of JB might polish more than this solvent. I would say that a heavily neglected note would benefit from initial cleaning with this, followed by JB compound.For an overall solvent, I think this is absolutely the best one I've used for general cleaning. It cleans even better than my old school ammonia based solvent and won't get me relegated to cleaning my rifles in the back yard.

This was a hail Mary to get copper out of 7 mag.Tried kg, Montana extreme, the frog lube copper killer. Nothing worked. The bore tech mixed with free all got it all out amazing results. Looks like brand new barrel.

All I ever use now. Never use this with a metal (brass or aluminum) patch pusher or use with a brass bristle bore brush as it will 'eat' the bristles right off and a brass or aluminum bore rod will show a negative result as the material (bore brush) or patch pusher will deposit itself on the patch. I only use nylon patch pullers / pushers and NYLON bore brushes, never brass ones, never. BTE will pull all the copper fouling out of a barrel as well as any powder desposits. However, you will need to swab the bore afterwards with your choice of barrel lubricant (I use Hoppes No.9 as the BTE will strip out any oil in the bore and you'll need to replace it or your barrel will rust inside.I run Tipton Nylon bore brushes (available here on Amazon) and then a nylon patch puller or Jag (also available on Amazon, NEVER a brass or bronze bristle brush and 100% cotton patches (also available on Amazon) for an excellent cleaning job and again followed by a patch slaking in Hoppes No.9 to coat the bore and keep it from rusting.Good stuff and unlike Sweets, it don't stink. That stuff is nasty.I would also buy this from Amazon instead of direct as BTE's ship cost is insane, just an FYI on that.
