These brackets are heavy and have an adjustable base. I think this makes them a good choice for mounting large window boxes to a sturdy wall or railing. There is one problem that made me decide to return them: The vertical mount only has two holes and they are 5.75" apart. That information was not included in the product description on amazon.com. The deck rail I need to attach brackets to is not that tall. I would either have to mount a wider board to the rail, or drill another hole in the bracket.Since so many reviewers complained about the included screws, I'm happy to report satisfaction with what came with my July 2023 order of 6 brackets: Thirteen 1.5" screws with beveled heads that match the bracket holes. Six bolts with wing nuts. Thirteen plastic drywall anchors for screws.**Nice that these are included, but you're using these already-heavy brackets to hold a windowbox full of watered soil and plants. You have to mount them to something that can take the weight.

During the pandemic my wife rigged up a system of window boxes using gutters and zip ties mounted to a rail on our deck. Now, almost three years later, her system is falling apart. The zip ties have weakened and eroded in the sun. So I ordered these brackets to at least do the support part correctly. The brackets come in two main pieces. An "L" shaped piece with the holes which mounts to the rail or wall with standard screws for the type of surface. Then, you slide on the smaller angled metal piece to adjust for the size of the window box that you have. The smaller piece is slotted to accommodate any size window box, and you use the included bolts and wing nuts to keep the entire thing in place. Now you have a nice "C" shaped bracket in which you can drop the flower box into. I never thought of it before, but I guess there is nothing to keep the planter box from being pushed off the brackets except the weight of the dirt, plants, box and water. Anyway, they are completely finished in a kind of coating that I hope will provide years of corrosion resistance, here where we live it rains a lot. All in all, these were exactly what we were looking for, and I appreciate the heavy-duty construction and flexibility with the adjustable size.

I replaced some older brackets that were thinner and flimsier. I was surprised at the thickness of the metal in these. These hold shelves with plant pots

Attached to the side of our deck easily with the included screws. Comes with anchors if needed. We screwed directly into the wood. Super easy to adjust. Sturdier then I expected. They are priced very comparable to similar units and we recommend them!
