I had just ordered 2 of these in different sizes, received 1 a few days ago and 1 today and just got the time to open them when I had cut the tape to open both of the sleeves it was clearly obvious (BOTH) have already been used! What the??? I’ve purchased a lot from Accusize and I have generally been pleased and satisfied but now I might have to look elsewhere if they are going to do this kinda stuff, I mean you can even see the grub screw marks from someone’s Weldon and the chips in the inserts and the crud in the screws. It’s like someone just wiped a return (and not very well at that) stuck it in a wrapper, added a QC paper put tape on stuck it on a shelve awaiting the next unsuspecting recipient. I’m sending this back. This is terrible service.

I bought this end mill about a year ago. I used it once, didn’t get a good result, put it away and forgot about it because I was working in a rush. FFW to about two weeks ago. I used the end mill again, and got the result in the photo. One of the insert sections wasn’t made properly, leaving a .002” ridge. Contacted Accusize, sent photos and after several email exchanges, they agreed to replace the end mill. So, that’s more than I expected since it had been a year almost. This happened with an Accusize face mill not long ago and the sent a replacement quickly. So they may not have the best QA/QC process, but they make up for it with great customer service.

I used the cutter to cut the side of aluminum, and you can see by picture the surface of the inserts are not on the same plane

No recomiendo este cortador, el corte queda en diferentes planos en cada inserto, y el acabado es malo

Impressive tool for the money. Does leave slight ridges on the overlapped inserts when end milling which I found to be acceptable. The main issue I have is insert life. When facing, will leave a mirror finish for 18-24 inches with light cuts before the finish becomes gnarly. Same results with every insert I tried. Have not been able to find any quality inserts that will fit and the accusize inserts are grossly overpriced in relation to performance.

Not cheap junk. Bought the aluminum inserts and it has a fine finish on 6000 series stock.

4th and final edit: I changed it from 1 star to 4 star because the company sent me a new cutter and it works very well and is not defective. It cuts night and day better than the original I received and goes to show the ineptitude of the company and it’s diligence in customer satisfaction and that is deserving of 5 stars however because I had to deal with the issue myself I felt it was fair to give it 4 stars as cautionary skepticism that it could happen again to someone else. Check your tooling over and evaluate with a clean light cut at full doc when you first receive it.3rd edit: well the bottom cutter kept ripping off because the tool was made improperly. Sadly you can see the upper inserts all sit crooked. Now if you look closely at my new photos you will see and also see I took the tool and machined it over and refit the insert. I’m going to make my own helical and forget about using this but for now it works decent compared to before. I do need to mention that this steel IS NOT hardened and I machined it with cheap .50 end mills I had sitting in the he drawer because I didn’t want to waste anymore money on the junk. So bottom line of you haven’t figured it out is DO NOT BUY unless you want same issues. Had the manufacturer/seller sent a replacement for this defect it would show they are not shipping the same crud to you. The fact they haven’t replaced it merely suggests that they know these are junk and are dumping them off on unsuspecting buyers. Save your money and pay for the Weldon branded one that is $150.Edit: look at the photos you can see it leaves more than a .4mm fracture ridge. This tool is junk just stay away.Dropped to 1 star. Take a look at photos it cuts terribly. Brand new inserts running at 7k rpm because it’s worse if it’s slowed down. The inserts do not align properly it’s a poorly made product if not a defect. Don’t buy unless your only use is hogging and going back to clean up with a different tool. My Sandvik r390 blows this away for quality and cut ability. I’d consider a new review if the manufacturer wants to send me another one that’s not terrible.Perhaps I received a defect it’s hard to know the product itself is visually appealing so it has the itch and urge to purchase. When opened I thought, “very nice”. But as soon as I used the cutter that’s where issues began. I believe the cutter is machined improperly and this is because the inserts leave horizontal lines and fractures you can feel with your finger tip. This isn’t normal of a good quality cutter. I know because I have many. This is priced as an mid to upper tier product typically even given the amazon discount it has me doubtful I’d ever purchase from this manufacturer again due to the risk to cost ratio and not wanting to deal with returns. A design flaw is the fact it only has 1 face cutter. I have 3/4 indexables that have 3 so there is absolutely no reason this shouldn’t have 2. If size isn’t important I’d recommend you try the 1” before this one. Part of me tempted but again first purchase loss of faith and regrets so I probably won’t do anything unless the manufacturer responds to this and does something g to make it right. I do own and operate a machine shop so we buy a lot of tooling. I can’t have me helical inserts out of square causing horizontal lines. You can loosen the screw and adjust insert but this is bad. You shouldn’t ever be able to move an insert around once it’s in it’s cutting position. If I decide to use it again I will upload photos. Also take caution with this cutting there is no plunging. You must approach the part from off the piece and work your way in and shallow cuts until you have your pocket or groove then you can take deeper side cuts. Just be sure you buy another cutter to finish it up clean or don’t bother and just buy the right one that works and change inserts from roughing to finishing then be done.
