Collars are too narrow and need an opposing set screw. They tip when tightened and do not set at a 90° angle to the bit. Practically impossible to get a proper fit. If they were wider say, 1/2 to 3/4 inch, the would be easier to set up

I know, it's a super simple item. Well, the first set I bought elsewhere didn't make the grade. How can one mess up something like this, well they did.I found these and thought why not, I can return them if need be. Well I'm using three og them and not issues so far.I just come up to the stop and I stop drilling. Rather simple.And yes, if need be I will buy these again

These work well enough provided you are very gentle with them. If you accidentally over tighten them, the small threaded insert will crack and you will have a very difficult time getting it out of the collar.

The provided Allen key constantly gets stuck in the set screw every time you tighten it. I had to put the Allen key in a benchtop vise lean back and pull on the drill stop to get it to come out. Because of this, I was unable to tighten the set screw enough. While building a $1000 Cherry TV stand the drill stop slipped causing the drill bit to go all the way through the board (we’re talking cherry wood that can cost $30-45 per board). I plugged the hole with a cherry dowel but I may still have to replace the board.
