I am comparing this to the ten dollar Harbor Freight unit I bought 15 years ago so I did not expect Mititoyo accuracy. This however is pure junk. Not stainless and easily gets magnetized picking up swarf. Movement is grinding and Jerky like you were like the arm was "sliding" through gravel. Repeatability was very poor accuracy was +/- .002 inch. In other words useless. Good units are made in this price range however this is not one!!
