Your cart is empty.These RED Mangroves (Rhizophora mangle) are great for tank Nitrate filtration or for landscaping. They are able to survive in salt, brackish, and fresh water. The propagules are not harvested from public shorelines, they are grown privately. We offer a two month survival guarantee. The plants you will receive will have established roots with at least two leaves. Most plants will be around 12" in height with an absolute minimum of 10 inches. Care instructions: Remove the plants from the shipping material. The temperature of this tropical plant should not drop below 40 degrees. Tank- Gently rinse them in room temperature fresh or tank water if you are placing them in an aquarium. Do not pack the roots down. Provide at least 12 hours a day of bright, daylight-spectrum light from a lamp or overhead light. The leaves need to be rinsed and cleaned everyday if the Mangrove is in a saltwater. If they begin dropping leaves, then it is not getting rinsed enough. They need to dispose of the salt through their leaves. Pot Planting- Cover their roots with soil, add fertilizer. Make sure their roots stay moist. They require filtered light. Please keep in mind, Mangroves don't tolerate full sun very well they thrive better in the shade. Mist them once a week if they are indoors.

Always wanted to give it a shot. I had a brackish water tank set up with a mudskipper. Thought these would be a great idea to decorate the tank and give it some contrast. They came in in OK shape and lived in the tank for about 3 to 6 months before passing, I doubt it was the plants fault probably my care of the tank foot one into freshwater that if I remember correctly lasted a little longer but later past I would definitely try it again if I had the tank set up

Received seven healthy seedlings with leaves and roots, each roughly the same length and maturity. They were in such good shape I put them in my main saltwater display tank, and happy I did, they look very cool. Very pleased with this purchase, I'd give it six stars if I could.Update - Four months after purchase and all 7 mangroves are still doing great. Roots have doubled in size (at a minimum), all shoots growing healthy leaves. The fishes love swimming around the roots, and the hermit crabs like climbing them. Have about 3" of the tops growing out of the top of the aquarium, so it adds a very unique look to the entire setup. Before adding these Mangroves, I was having persistent, frustrating, and time consuming nitrate issues, regardless of water change frequency. After adding these, nitrates started going down within a month, and now have been down to undetectable levels for the past 3 months. Have to say that to this date this has been my favorite purchase for my 1+ yr old display tank, for both aesthetics and maintaining water quality, and at a far lower price than any type of filtering equipment. Very happy customer, and I highly recommend based on the many benefits I describe above.
