About this item

  • Anderson Powerpole contacts for 16-20 gauge wire size (other wire size contacts also available)
  • Designed to fit into 1327 series colored housings (not included)
  • Interchangeable genderless design, flat wiping contact system cleans contact surface on connection/disconnection
  • Allows for minimal contact resistance at high current
  • Silver-plated contacts are rated up to 30A @ 600V.

What's Included?
Metal contacts to crimp onto 16-20 gauge wire. Sold as a 100 quantity package. Does not include colored plastic housings (sold separately).

15, 30 & 45 amp Powerpole connectors will mate with each other
The 15, 30 & 45 amp contacts all use the same 1327 series plastic housings. Therefore, they will all connect to each other. The difference between the contacts is the size of the receiving barrel that accepts the various wire sizes.

  • 15 amp contacts are recommended for 20-16 gauge wire
  • 30 amp contacts are recommended for 14-12 gauge wire
  • 45 amp contacts are recommended for 10 gauge wire

Powerpole connectors are both genderless

Powerpole connectors are genderless, meaning the supply and load connectors are the same. Since there are no male or female parts, all Powerpole connectors mate with themselves.

High current rating, low resistance
The size of the flat contact area is actually the same for all 15, 30 & 45 amp contacts. Powerpole connectors will safely handle higher loads or surges, please read the data sheet for additional information.

The contacts are made of highly conductive silver-plated copper for minimal contact resistance at high currents. The average contact resistance is 600 micro-ohms.

Flat wiping contact system
Allows for minimal contact resistance at high current. Self-wiping action cleans contact surfaces during connection/disconnection. Contacts are rated at 10,000 no-load connect/disconnect cycles.

Stainless steel spring
Powerpole connectors use a stainless-steel spring which applies 25 lbs. of pressure to hold the contacts firmly together and maintain constant contact. Cheaper connectors simply depend upon soft copper that eventually spreads apart and becomes loose.

These pins look just like the ones I bought directly from Anderson. Priced is good and quality is good.

Anderson Powerpoles are difficult to work with, you need to crimp them perfectly with a refined technique and a quality crimper. Once you figure out how to crimp properly they work just OK. However, they are terribly overrated and often intermittent. I use them because they have become standard in the Amateur radio community.

If you want Power Pole connectors, shop here. These are real Anderson, not the cheap knockoffs you'll find (and find foisted upon you) elsewhere on Amazon. Beware of cheap imitations.

So many employees pull the wire out of the Anderson plugs at work. Had to by new metal connectors to repair. If you are doing a lot I highly recommend buying specific crimper to make the job go quicker.

I just found out these existed. I used to just fondle the 12Ga. pins and try to center my small wires. These work great with small wires. Game changer!

Pretty quick shipping and they look good. It is critical to use the correct size connector for the intended wire size even if the circuit is fused for is less than the connector is rated for. My crimper gives the size wire for the amperage rating of the contacts. They work fine as long as the right size wire for the connector is used.

I bought (100) 15 Amp Power Pole inserts to expand and upgrade my various "go box", "go bag" configurations. Pay attention to the wire gauge of your devices. When selecting which pole insert (15A, 30A or 45A) larger wire needs higher amperage. For additional clues select the pole with a higher ampere rating than your fuse!Use a Anderson Power Pole crimper, then if desired, "dab" a bit of solder to get the best performance from the connection(s).
