Got these just the day before my granddaughter's birthday party. Two bolts holding blade to boot completely missing from left boot. Will be returning.Update: requested a replacement and they were shipped out immediately. Appears what I first received were defective skates that had been returned and shipped out again. Hopefully it was just an Amazon issue. The replaced skates were perfect. Grandaughter wears a size 4 shoe but the size 1 setting fit her so she will get more wear out of them than expected. Youngest grandaughter looked at the pictues on the box abd wants the "blue" skates. Will order soon for her birthday in June.

They are perfect for beginners. No laces to keep adjusting all the time. Just snap them on !

sturdily built, size is adjustable so it's good for a few years. It's a good set for beginners. If you get more serious, upgrade, but this worked well for me. It's more comfortable than the upgrade too.

Got them as my daughter has just started ice skating. Great value and can be adjusted to different shoe sizes. Comfortable and easy to put on.

I purchased these for my daughter as a beginning pair of skates. We both love them! I love how easy they are to adjust the size and to put them on and take them off - no laces that loosen up as you skate! My daughter loves they way they look and feel. Before our first time out I made sure to get them sharpened (all new skates must be sharpened or they won't grip the ice). My daughter quickly got her balance and was having a great time at the dj night skating. The smallest size is still slightly long for my daughter, so she wore thicker socks. Since the sides are somewhat flexible and can be adjusted, we were able to still get the skates snug around my daughter's feet and ankles thus providing excellent support. After almost 2 hours of skating, I wish I had a pair of these skates instead of my old lace-up figure skates! Seriously!

These skates are great for my daughter. They are inexpensive but sturdy and she has already got a great amount of use from them. The straps make it much easier for her to get in and out of the skates... as opposed to laces. Given that the boot is also size-adjustable, I imagine that we'll get several years of use. She and I are delighted with this purchase!

These skates work great. My kids can put them on and take them off by themselves. That's a huge plus. The tongue of the lining is loose almost to the toe so if they don't tuck it in, it folds over and feels very uncomfortable. Even as an adult trying to help, the tongue is hard to get in the right place and have it stay there while closing the clasps. The clasps can be tightened too much and then the one that holds it in place before you close it can fold right at the bottom. Then they don't work well because they can't be tightened like they need too. Be Carful not to overtighten and bend that piece. These are not super spendy skates but they do the trick. Nice to have and fairly easy to use

These are cheap skates and they might look a little cheap and plasticky/synthetic too, but I'm perfectly happy with them. I didn't know if after the first enthusiasm passed, the kids would continue to like skating. These cost just slightly over the price of a one-time rental at the rink (Manhattan). I wasn't expecting much, but they are absolutely fine. Used them three times now (they've already paid themselves off) for about one hour each time and neither of my kids complained about sore ankles, sore/sweaty/cold feet or anything. They seem to support the ankles well, the closing straps are fine and seem like they will last. I think they're good value for money.UPDATE winter 2018/19: Third year using these skates! Did not (need to) adjust the size for the second winter. Just adjusted the size now. Difficult! (you really have to pull hard - maybe because they were already 3 yrs old and getting stiff?) Adjust by pushing the button and pushing forward the ankle section. It took two of us to do so, one holding the back, one pulling the front - once again, may be easier if you do it when they are new(er).
