They provide immediate water flow even in sub-zero temperatures. Woodford has been manufacturing hydrants since 1929. There have been improvements over the years, but all parts are interchangeable. All repairs can be done from the top of the unit without removing moisture from the soil.
Not as good as other paste pills I have tried.

The Woodford yard hydrant is w well designed and manufactured tool. I have used other hydrants in the past that were less expensive but ended up leaking in a short period of time. Based on reviews, and speaking with people who have installed them at their residences I don't believe the Woodford will. So far it works perfectly.
