Whiteside Machine Company has been in the router bit business for over 30 years providing customer with quality products while at the same time striving to achieve complete customer satisfaction. Several woodworking magazines have tested Whiteside versus the competition and selected Whiteside as the winner for best router bits available in the market. Whiteside Machine Company was founded in 1970 as a general purpose machine shop in the basement of Bill & Bobbie Whiteside's home. Located in Western North Carolina near the furniture manufacturing town of Hickory, the company was often involved in making repairs or special parts for the furniture and woodworking field. A strong commitment to customer problem-solving, a can-do attitude, and innovative ideas, along with a growing core of dedicated employees, helped the business evolve into a manufacturer of woodworking equipment and tooling. Primarily through repeat business and referrals, the tooling business continued to grow to meet a demand for quality production router bits as well as custom application tooling. Today, Whiteside Machine occupies a 40,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility and produces a complete line of solid carbide and carbide tipped router bits. Whiteside's quality, innovation, and customer commitment is still present in our superb product line, in the design of custom tooling to fill special customer requirements, and in the development of special machinery and tooling for our own manufacturing use. As always, Whiteside Machine is continuously striving to improve our product through new technology, improved production techniques, and ongoing research and development efforts; along with rigid quality control, vital customer feedback and extensive field testing. Whiteside Machine Company.

I use only Whiteside router bits because I find their quality a step above any other.

I have been woodworking for more than 50 years and through that time purchased router bits from several manufacturers. For those router bits I knew I would use a lot, I usually purchased high quality bits from Bosch, Freud, and Amana. For those router bits that would be used infrequently I would purchase lower quality router bits from Eagle America, Woodtek, MLCS, and Woodline. Then, about 5 years ago, I discovered Whiteside and decided to try one of their router bits. I was very impressed by the quality of the Whiteside router bits. They are sharp and really well balanced so that there is no chatter while using the router bits. Furthermore, they are usually (maybe always) lower priced than many of the other companies that produce high quality router bits (Bosch, Freud, Amana, etc.) They are higher priced than some other router bits, but the quality is well worth the extra cost.I highly recommend Whiteside for all router bits.

Beast of a bit! I bought this to joint the edges of my 1.75" thick walnut counter tops. This thing breezed through it without breaking a sweat. Could probably have gone heavier if needed but 1/16th passes and it didn't even slow down and left a glass smooth finish.

I have been using Whiteside router bits for years and every one of them meets my needs. This particular bit is used to shape shape legs on a custom template and it did not bog down at all. Time is money and I cannot afford to stop and sharpen a blade that routinely becomes dull. I have over a dozen Whiteside bits and they are simply awesome. A little tip: When you are done using a router bit, soak it in pitch remover for a day and wipe down. This minimizes the need to sharpen.

This thing is sharp and works well. Its big and scary but if you're careful and dont try to take off too much in one pass, it works great!
