Will not hold a tire due to being a few millimeters short of correct diameter. The coaster brake hub was also of poor quality. Ended up rebuilding the original schwinn rim, ugly, but it holds a tire.

You get what you pay for. The label says “machine made in USA, the rim has a big label “made in China”. Rim is a single wall construction, I can’t see is going far without bending.

I have previously ordered this wheel along with the front wheel as a set. They fit my old cruiser perfectly. While riding, my chain broke and I taco'd this rear wheel. I sure felt like it broke easy. But this new one is a much nicer wheel. It feels way more solid. A little heavier steel and spokes. This wheel was packed tightly, in the center of a suspension box. The bearings feel good, and It spun very, very close to true, right out of the box (I had to take the first one to a bike shop to true up, it was warped badly out of its loose, beat up box)...anyway, this rim gets 5 stars from me. And the quick shipping helped get me back on the bike too!

Seems like a decent enough rim. Just a shame it's the wrong size. Trying to find a 26" rim for a single speed beach cruiser is like looking for a needle in a haystack. After no luck at the local bike co-ops I looked online, and was initially happy to find this one. Course I was in for a huge disappointment when I first noticed it was bigger than another 26" rim I had laying around from a 7 speed. Sure enough I tried the new tire on it and it didn't fit. I don't even see a point keeping the thing as a spare, since its an odd tire size, and I doubt I'll ever find a bike that needs that size.

UPDATE: So it turns out 26 inches doesnt mean 26 inches when it comes to bike wheels and there are 4 different sizes that a 26 wheel cpuld be. Make sure you know what your actual diameter is (referred to as ISO) I (and probably other negative reviewers) needed a more common ISO 559(559 mm) but this is ISO 590! Lesson learned the hard way. Product is made well (hense updated to 5 stars) but not what I was after.Original review: Should have read reviews before buying. It is too large in diameter (more than 26 inches, none of my 26 inch tires will fit and it is bigger than the part it is meant to replace. Like a do I assumed everything was gonna be fine so i painted it before I found out and now I can't return it...buyer beware.

For the money, these were ok wheels. Pretty cheaply constructed but you get what you pay for. I'll definitely spend a little more money for a higher quality product.

The inside of the rim has a seam that is rough and sharp and runs from lip to lip on the inside. I covered it with tape (real tape - rim tape didn't cover the sharp parts on the side) and it seems to be working okay. Other than that, this is a great affordable coaster brake wheel.

I've had this Wheel Master coaster hub wheel for about 1 year. The other day, for the first time, I accidentally dropped off a 4" curb. The result was a broken spoke. I weigh 165 lbs, and with the original 1977 Schwinn S-6 wheel, I've dropped off curbs many times without a problem. The mechanic at my local bike shop sold me a stainless steel spoke and mentioned that Wheel Master spokes are notorious for breaking. Of course, replacing an occasional spoke isn't such a big deal, if you know what you're doing, but even then it is highly aggravating. On the plus side, this wheel trued up okay with the new spoke. This wheel spins a bit truer than the original wheel, and is noticeably lighter. The weight difference can be felt, particularly when climbing a hill.Update one week later: I broke another spoke!! This time, I don't even know how or when. The spokes on this wheel are not as tightly laced from the factory as those on the original Schwinn front wheel (S-6). Perhaps that's why these spokes seem to break so easily. I run a coaster break bike for low maintenance and dependability. This wheel certainly defeats those objectives.2nd update, three weeks after previous update: Two weeks ago, I was pumping up the tire (to 65 lbs). "Tink" went yet another spoke. "Groan!" Needless to say, something was not right with this wheel. So, this time, when I replaced the spoke, I loosened all the spokes a quarter turn and re-trued the wheel. It's been running fine since then (2 weeks). But, with looser spokes all around, my confidence level is dropping.I later asked a professional wheel builder, on line, about my wheel problem. He believes these wheels are breaking spokes because the spokes are too small diameter for the hub holes. They are in fact a bit smaller diameter than the replacement spokes I'm using (14 guage). I can tell by rolling them together on a tabletop with my index finger pressing down on them.According to the wheel builder, the loose fit at the hub hole creates extra stress at the spoke elbow. Indeed, all three broken spokes broke at the elbow. Thinner spokes (and rims) means less tension can be applied to the spokes. That, along with extra stress at the hub, results in significantly lowered wheel strength. Knowing this, I intend to ride this wheel very gently until I can find an original Schwinn replacement. It seems to me that by recklessly cheapening their product, Wheel Master is subjecting users to much aggravation and increased danger of wheel collapse. Would you want to trust your life to such a wheel? Thank you Amazon for making this review possible.
