Working beautifully on my trek. Had my bike mechanic, Robert, swap out the cassette, tire, and innertube and it’s been fantastic to me.

Very happy with this wheel. Good quality for the price. Nice to know it is made in the USA!

This is like the 5th Wheelmaster (WM) wheel I've purchased (most from Amazon). Like the other ones I bought this wheel is a great deal for the price but it requires some tools and skill to make it perfect. As other reviewers have pointed out this wheel (like all WM wheels I've purchased) comes round and true however the spokes are machine tightened and on the loose side. This means that after a few miles you will need to use a spoke wrench ($5 from Amazon or LBS) to tighten any excessively loose spokes and true the wheel. You may need to do this 2x in the first 100 miles. After that, it should not require regular tightening. If you do not do this the wheel can develop a flat spot, wobble, and eventually break a spoke. The second thing about these rims is the bearings almost always come way too tight. This is easily fixed using 2 adjustable crescent wrenches and loosening up the nut about 1/2 a turn or so until they spin freely without play. After that these wheels will serve you well for thousands of miles. I ride them hard and still get about 5000 miles out of them before the aluminum rim develops hairline cracks between the spoke holes. Then I toss out that wheel and buy another. Recently for racing, I bought a solid carbon fiber disk for 6x the price of one of these, but I still use this spoked rim as a backup and for training. If you know how to true a wheel and loosen the nut holding the bearings in place then this is a great bargain of a wheel. If using tools isn't for you then buy a different rim

Wheel came and was a little off, had to true it, after 100 miles had to re-tighten some spokes, may have been roughed up in shipping, this was my second replacement wheel, first one was great lasted 5000 miles, I'm a big guy so it puts a lot of stress on the wheel.

Bearings WAY to tight. Fear that they damaged the bearing race. Made initial attempt to adjust. Locknuts wouldn't budge. Wheel going back.

Excellent! spins smooth and the setup is a real workhorse and very durable. I only replaced the original so I could take my time doing maintenance.

If you need a 700c, 36 spoke, disc brake wheel with a double walled rim, this is one of the few choices that you have unless you choose to have a wheel built from scratch. This is a good inexpensive wheel that would work well on a daily commuter bike. Two words of caution:- The wheel does not come with rim tape, which unless you like pinch flats is crucial part to setting the wheel up- I am a larger rider and I have had to get my wheel trued twice. For comparison I used a single walled 36 spoke Weinmann rim and have not had many self inflicted issues. I recommend that if you buy this to take it to a bike shop to have the spokes properly tension'd as the rim was true. From my experience this wheel is definitely worth the money, Just make sure that the spokes are tuned properly and everything should be good to go.
