About this item

  • ULTIMAGE GRAB-AND-GO CAJON: Made entirely of cardboard, the Meinl VivaRhythm Cajon-2-Go pops up from a single flat piece into a full size cajon in four easy steps. The structure is stable and can comfortably hold children or adult players. Comfortably holds up to 150 kg/ 330 lbs. Simply fold it up when you’re done!
  • NATURALLY DEEP BASS: The sturdy cardboard material provides naturally deep bass, making the Cajon- 2-Go a great, inexpensive alternative to the traditional wood style cajon construction. The dimensions measure 13.5" W x 18" H x 12.5" D, which is the same size as a traditional wood Meinl cajon. A sound port is cut into the rear for bass enhancement and microphone placement.
  • INTERNAL SNARES INCLUDED: Inside is a fixed set of snare wires to provide a crisp snare drum sound. Striking towards the center of the instrument gives you a deep bass sound, while hitting towards the top corners gives you a crisp snare. Perfect for creating drum set rhythms.
  • PERFECT FOR JAM SESSIONS: The Meinl VivaRhythm Cajon-2-Go is perfect for anyone interested in percussion, regardless of skill level. This inexpensive alternative to a traditional cajon is ideal for spontaneous jam sessions.
  • TAKE ANYWHERE: The Cajon-2-Go can be played in any situation, indoors or outside. Be sure to place the cajon on a flat, dry surface when playing and avoid moisture.

It's foldable, made out of cardboard, and less than $30. Don't expect some amazing cajon that you're going to use for a gig.I pack mine into a dry bag and bring it on kayak/camping trips. It's perfect for a little percussion around a fire. It even held up better than expected in the rain one nightAlso: duh, wet swimsuits aren't the best for it. Sit on a towel

You get exactly what you pay for. If they keep the same design and upgrade the materials a little, they can def market a travel cajon for $50-75 and possibly sell lots of them. What to expect: zero projection of sound, low frequency completely dampened and high frequency suffocated because the wires are attached to cardboard.I substituted (cut out) the front panel with an old cajon wood faceplate, still nada.. I presume the back should also be wooden and they could line the inner sides with light metal sheets, but at that point that's a completely different product.Unfortunately a good concept that won't carry you through anything at all; also consider that if gets wet in any measure it becomes an origami.

This is an 'experiment' in alternative design. . . . . but just doesn't meet the mark for a real cajon! Don't waste you money on this. . . . . buy a lightweight, or foldable wooden cajon for a real usable sound!!

This is a rad idea and setup! Sound wise it has a nice crisp snare snap with no buzz rattle like some cajons. Deepish bass notes. A bit quieter than cajons maid of wood, but this rig is ideal for kids and beginners!! Only reason for not a full star rating is I am 260 lb, but I have a little butt, rite away I dented the seat du to my weight being pinpointed on the back flap. Still holds me and all that, but it has a forever butt print now.
