...because I'm not actually playing it! I'm using it on my Yamaha Digital Sax - and you actually don't even need a mouthpiece to play that instrument (you can literally get the same results blowing in the leadpipe!). The original somehow got chipped and was a little to sharp edged to want to put in my mouth regularly, so I searched for the cheapest soprano mouthpiece on Amazon. This was the second cheapest as the first cheapest was actually a sopranino sax mouthpiece and, of course, didn't fit. It got returned, but this one works just fine for my purposes. Again, I have no idea how it would actually play on a "real" horn.

It is poorly made...the ligature does not fit the mouthpiece.

We did not purchase this mouthpiece, however the pictures tell you all you need to know. The reed is completely destroyed in the pictures, which would make playing virtually impossible, not even speaking of how it would affect the intonation of the horn. The mouthpiece cap (meant to protect the reed and the tip of the mouthpiece) was on the wrong side of the mouthpiece. Although these gripes do not necessarily reflect the quality of the mouthpiece, it shows that the people selling this thing did not bother to correct mistakes that someone playing the saxophone for a day should have been able to notice. If you’re looking for a good beginner mouthpiece, the Yamaha 4c is a good place to start.

The piece I got was to small for my saxophone and I would like to replace it

Excellent mouthpiece with everything included. With the original mouthpiece I could only get half the notes in my soprano Sax. I just wanted to test this cheap mouthpiece and it actually is great I can get all the notes on the sax except the very lowest B. Great deal!

NEW REVIEW:I just received my 2nd mouthpiece. This is not the same as the old one I bought and loved three years ago, and it is not nearly as good on high notes. I'm revising my review to 2 stars. In the photos they now provide, they have an old vs. new picture. But this photo is useless. It shows the old mouthpiece with the reed cover on backwards so you can't see the base and can't compare. Look at my photo that compares the bases of the mouthpieces. The good one is on the left and has a gradual curve. The new one is on the right and has a more abrupt curve. I'll be looking for another gradual curve mouthpiece. The big difference between these mouthpieces, which actually has an impact on sound, is that the old version has a high baffle which curves slightly and then steps down abruptly. The new one has a much lower curving baffle, curving more, with no step.ORIGINAL REVIEW:I bought this because I needed a ligature, and the lowest price ligature by itself was the same price as this mouthpiece/ligature/reed/cover/tooth protectors. So the mouthpiece (in my view) was a cheap bonus, a throwaway. Then I tried it, and was able to hit low and high notes so much easier than several of my other mouthpieces. This is a lot better than the cheap mouthpiece that came with my cheap sax. Nice surprise!Edit:Just now, three years later, I again went through my bag of soprano mouthpieces to see which ones would help me hit the high notes. This time I have two other soprano saxes to test with, including one that is pro level and isn't so cheap.AGAIN this generic mouthpiece stood out from the rest, which brought me back to this review I wrote (which I'd forgotten about). The other easy mouthpiece was a RICO Metalite M5, which was darker sounding. This generic mouthpiece is extremely easy blowing and controllable. You can play the quietest notes down to the loudest and brightest. You can do a consistent soft airstream and play a long note that you can barely hear, and gradually raise it up in loudness. This piece is quite a find. For ten bucks, you should try it.
