As someone who works on my feet for a living (in a fabrication shop with concrete floors for 8-10 hours a day) I gotta say I really love these boots. 10/10 do recommend.I purchased these after my original pair from the 90's bit the dust. The tread and leather uppers still had quite a few miles left in them, but the glue that holds the two together has failed due to age. I re-glued the rubber tread back on myself on a few occasions, but they were no longer waterproof so the glue job would only last a few months. I've got pictures of both versions here for a side by side comparison. There are a few small stylistic differences, but aside from that pretty much the same. I've been wearing these for a week now every day at work and in snowy conditions. Happy to say my feet have been totally dry and warm.A note on sizing: As odd as it sounds, make sure to buy at least a half or even one whole size up.I typically wear 7.5-8 Womens, but had to try out and return three pairs before I landed in the size 8.5 Wide. I personally prefer a roomy shoe with little to no arch support and these fit the shape of my foot perfectly. They admittedly felt weird compared to my broken-in pair, but now that I am a week in I can already anticipate they will mod to my feet nicely. One thing I cant figure out is what the "(p)" version is. As far as I can tell, they're exactly the same as the others... but $100 less?

Many years ago I bought a slightly used pair of Skywalks and loved them from the start. They lasted about 30 years. I couldn't find replacements for a long time. Vasque is a quality boot that will last for years. They may be leather, but they're not too much for hot weather backpacking and provide good support and protection. Its wise to buy a half size larger than your regular shoe size so you can wear good thick hiking socks to prevent blisters.

Had to buy the men's 8.5 because they didn't have 10.5 wide in women's. But whatever.Sundowners are awesome! You just have to keep in mind, hard boots HURT to break into. It will hurt for a long time but eventually they will become the best boots you'll ever have. Luckily for me. I got to skip the pain and they actually didn't hurt very bad breaking into them! The support I get from them is unreal. Just be sure to get yourself a nice pair of insoles to go along with them. I know it's expensive, but your feet will thank you.

Comfortable, waterproof, roomy for my toes to wear thick wool socks with space for my toes. A little stiff but breaking them in will make them more comfortable and flexible.

I owned a pair years ago - wore them extensively to the point of wearing out. I had high expectations based on memory but, these did not fit well. I expect that the fit of the boot is not good do to my foot changing over the years. Its a nice boot over all, very /stiff and heavy compared to other more contemporary models/materials. Sturdy boot.

Amazing boot. You cab feel the quality. Definately order a half size up as others mentioned. I also ordered wide, I don't have an overly wide foot. I would say average width in all other footwear. So, buy half size and wide from normal. Perfection. These are stylish and will keep up chasing toddlers and hiking trails, maybe even in -30. Just be careful of the "used" deals store, ordered a second pair and they were the wrong size and colorway. returned.

Las pedí medio número más de mi talla y me quedaron perfecta. Son muy cómodas para caminar. Son algo así como de uso rudo o todo terreno. Además está muy bonito su diseño. Me encantaron. Valen lo que cuestan.

I purchased these boots for work and backpacking. Originally I ordered a size 10, but I ended up needing a size 10.5. I think this is due to how my foot and toes are shaped (I have long toes!). The toe box was a little snug with the first pair, whereas with the larger pair it was great. These boots are high-quality, look great, and are incredibly comfortable. I appreciate that they do not have a lot of weight to them, which will be great for both hiking and backpacking endeavors. If you're looking for an affordable pair of all-leather, waterproof hiking boots, these are it!

I had a pair of these in the 1980s while living in Boulder Colorado. Being a poor college student at that time, I had 3 pairs of shoes - the Vasques, Birkenstock sandles, Saucony running shoes. I still recall fondly the day I decided to go ahead and buy the Vasques. I had tried them on and walked around in the store for a week before I bought them. They had a pricetag of $99.00. That was A LOT of money to lay down for a pair of boots for a broke 20 year old college student at that time. Anyway, I worked extra shifts at the restaurant, saved my pennies; and bought them. I wore those Vasques almost everyday in the fall and winter. I also wore them to climb the many Fourteeners I scaled throughout Colorado. While these 2018 Sundowners aren't the same quality Italian Leather as the ones I wore for 15 years until they were almost shreds, so far, they're remeniscent in many ways. First, they're a bit stiff and squeaky. However, not uncomfortably stiff. They give my ankles and feet support and some lift. I feel like I did in my youth wearing them - light, bouncy, like I can scale any mountain I come across. If they're anything like that first pair, I'm guessing they'll mold to my foot over time and become the boot I'll wear into my old age.

I love Vasque. I have narrow feet, and this company provides quality footwear that normally takes little to no break in time, and that cater to my narrow foot needs.I like the Sundowner boot, but am still on the fence. The fit is a little snug, which will be great once I break them in. However, the leather is so stiff that it will take a LOOOOOONG time to get them properly adjusted to my feet. I have huge open blisters on my heels from these boots, whereas I never got blisters with my other Vasque boots. Switching to a thinner hiking sock initially will help, I think. They also squeak, a LOT, but with a little oil I think I can fix that. That being said, I highly recommend Vasque footwear. The Sundowner looks great, feels great (even though I have blisters), and will last a very long time. It will be worth it in the end to have a little suffering during the break in time.
