basically looks and tastes like a mix of sizes and ages,, hard to get consistent roast, various hardness makes it hard to dial in grind. wouldn't be bad for learning to roast, if it wasn't overpriced for what it is

My first foray into roasting my own coffee beans! These green beans were suitable and coffee tasted fine. I do think the next time, I will let them roast a little bit longer, to get them darker.

The beans are consistent and clean, no debris in the bag. I made one batch of a lighter roast and one dark roast past second crack and both were excellent. The dark roast was extremely smooth and flavorful, but not too acidic. The lighter roast had a more leafy/natural flavor. I prefer the darker roast, but mixed together this gave an excellent cup of coffee. Great price as well, will buy again.

It was my first time roasting coffee and I thought I'd give this a shot as it had a lot of positive reviews from others roasting their own.I roasted a few batches - some into the 2nd crack and others just at 2nd crack. The aroma is strong with this coffee - and the flavor is great, too. But it's really smooth - it doesn't hit you like a truck like the aroma might have you thinking it will... but the flavor really comes on after you've taken your drink.I've read reviews of other green coffees having inconsistent sizes or other debris in them - this did not have that. The sizing of the beans was very consistent and there was no debris in the bag.Delicious coffee. Worth the purchase. I'll be buying again once I run out - which may be sooner than later, as the people around the office were really surprised with the flavor as well.

My second roast, in popcorn popper so I could hear the cracks. This coffee still LOOKS like “light roast” when the second crack comes on. It also seems to grind finer than other beans at the same setting on the same grinder. Not sure “how” that is? The beans are smaller...maybe grinding MORE? But 10g’s of these almost stops up my machine where 10gs of others do not.The aroma is all they said “chocolaty and nutty”. The flavor was still “sharp” on the first shot but when I chased some birthday cake with a shot...REALLY good for that.I gotta work on single shots with this one. I keep getting “over whelmed”. Not ready to “blame” the bean yet. Either I’m not doing it right or I’m not the right guy for this bean. That might be two versions of the same statement. 🤣*****************My first roast was in the oven; about “full city”; hard telling...couldn’t hear the cracks and the chaff & oven window makes it hard to see the bean. The taste as a coffee was “good”; nothing too much either way to appreciate. As “espresso” it has an AMAZING crema, but a very sharp flavor; not a fan of that.I’ll work on the roasting; it might be my fault.Beans are small, I agree with everybody else on that. This one ground very finely too; be a result of over roasting?

Disappointed in the quality of these beans. They come very small before roasting and plump up a bit. I roast until the second crack and then allow 6-12 hours for the beans to breath. To my tastes, the final product is weak with almost no richness. I much prefer the Don Pablo brand of roasted whole beans sold on Amazon to these do-it-yourselfers.

I was looking for something local like that I could roast and found this 'family farm' idea intriguing. I also wanted something from Amazon because of the convenience of ordering. Previously I ordered directly from a couple places that sold green coffee beans. I received it the other day and roasted some yesterday. I have to say this is excellent coffee. It roasted very nicely and the flavor is excellent.

Sweet, smooth. I've tried a few different brands and regions and so far this is our favorite. Great cup of coffee no matter the roast. We've had it as a medium from the end of the first crack all the way to a full city + and they're all great. A medium is a tiny bit tart yet still very smooth and a little sweet. A full city + minimal acidity and incredibly creamy and smooth. This is a mild to medium cup of coffee and I have found it to be a bit bolder and more flavorful after sitting. Straight from the drip, it's very mild. After sitting for 20-30 minutes in a warming craft, not on a hot plate, it gets little bit darker and quite a bit more flavorful. This is the best, most diverse coffee I've roasted to date.
