Nice replacement tuners for your ukulele. May need to make larger hole.

The first time I ordered these, the tuning pegs looked used and were missing parts. I returned and reordered them. The replacement set had a loose gear cover that would not stay in the tuning peg so I returned them also. Will try a different company next.

I had purchased a second-hand ukulele. The body and neck were in good condition, and seemed to have good tone. The price was a bargin. The instrument had the least appeal of the dealer's selection. The tuners were direct peg type tuners. The one to one scale made it difficult to fine tune, and to maintain string tension. These tuners solved the problem and enhanced the look and quality of the instrument. They were easy to install. It Probably took 20 -30 minutes. This included installing new strings.Very happy with this purchase. Now my ukulele is the pick of the litter.

They list these as locking tuners: they are NOT.

These look nice and work good enough but are too long for a uke with a standard 10 to 12 mm thickness headstock. The uke I am building has a .47" or 11.9mm thick headstock and I cannot tighten the nuts far enough to tighten the tuners. The tuning post also stick quite high above the peghead about even with the nut even though cut at 15 deg. I am pretty sure these are designed as guitar tuners but sold in sets of 4. Luckily I had a set of actual uke ( shorter) tuners and was able to swap the buttons over. I will keep these and save for a build with a thicker headstock like a guitar or banjo.

Worked out great to revive an old ukelele. I did have to drill holes slightly bigger but would t be surprised if that was due to undersized old keys.

did not fit the same hole size as the friction tuners I replaced. Had to drill a slightly bigger hole

The general quality of construction rated only a 3 out 5 from me because the pegs were wobbly within the body of the tuners. This looseness largely disappears upon installation but I still felt that the engineering of the internals was less than desirable.
