The idea behind these swabs is very good, and generally the implementation is good. These swabs are truly lintless and do a good job of cleaning as they are a good size in comparison to my 9mm barrel. According to the manufacturer, these can be cleaned and used multiple times. I have found that they work very well and can indeed be somewhat cleaned by “rinsing” them out with your cleaning agent (I just spray them after use with CLP then wring them out to get as much carbon out of them as possible). They do not get completely clean so I set the used ones aside to use them for the next initial pass through when cleaning my barrel. Out of habit, I only push these through from the breach end, and then unscrew them from my cleaning rod so as to only clean in the direction that the bullet goes (don’t know if this is really necessary but comes from old habits to prevent scratching the barrel with buildup by “scrubbing” it both ways). Also, it helps to prevent any inadvertent damage to the muzzle end of the barrel (supposedly). However, this is where the implementation has some negatives due to the threads on the swabs. I’m not sure if it is only with my Glock cleaning rod, but it is not easy to screw the swabs into the threaded end of the factory Glock cleaning rod as there is a very slight mismatch between the threads. Once you get it started onto the threaded end, then the swabs stays in place quite firmly, but it is quite difficult to get it started. Also, since I only go from the breach end to the muzzle end, and then unscrew them handle on the end of the cleaning rod prevents the rod from going completely through the barrel, I have to unscrew the swabs and reattach them for each pass. It would be easier if the threads were better matched. I have not tried another cleaning rod as I like the Glock polymer rod as there is no danger of inadvertently scratching the inside of the barrel as might happen with a metal rod. At any rate, if the threads were more compatible, I would give these Swab-its 5 stars. As it is, 4 stars.

I clean a lot of 380s every week and some 9mm. So, I decided I would stock up since I use so many. They do eventually wear out. I've been using these for a while now and have no complaints. I still use patches to coat a barrel with Hoppes and for the first swab out to remove the bore cleaner. After that it's swab-it's all the way. Rather than throwing out literally hundreds of patches I just use the swab-it's until one comes out clean. Try cleaning your firearm with patches and when they start to come out nice and clean run a swab-it's through a few times. The swab-it's may not come out all that clean. When you are done soak them in little dish washer fluid and water. Leave them for an hour or so and let them dry. They are ready to go again. I am using them in all my pistols and rifles. Great product.

I won’t go back to the cloth sheets passed through a plastic loop hole method again. That doesn’t clean anywhere near as good as these. The best thing is you can re-use these. I also bought the mop-head type but have not yet tried them. These are good so far.

The customer service behind Bore-tips is absolutely first rate. They quickly answer questions, explain why Bore-tips are better than patches, snakes and mopes for cleaning bores. Then even set me to some video's showing how the product was used and how to clean the Bore-tips for re-use. They do a much better job than patches, mops and snakes, they are faster by at least 2/3rds and get into the rifling like nothing else does. The Bore-tips arrived just as they said they would, I think Bore-tips are a great value, less time required for cleaning and more time on the range. What else could you ask for. So in summary:- Product arrives on time with no problems, Customer service is easy to communicate with, the product works better than anything currently on the market. All in all they are great.
