My go to favorite colored pencils for adult coloring books is Staedtler Ergosoft. I was looking for more colors and found these. I spent a couple hours testing this set this afternoon. I am glad I ordered more than one set. These will now be added to my 24 Ergosoft set for a larger variety of colors. I really like the feel of this set. The colors are bright. Even pressing very hard did not create the waxy lumps that I sometimes get with the Ergosofts. I would prefer the triangle shape but for the price and quality of these pencils I feel that they are a great value. I am very glad that I bought a backup replacement set. I will be using them often.

As well as these Norris Club pencils I have prismacolor premier and scholar, Fantasia, Lyra Polycolor, Staedtler Ergosoft, Polychromos by Faber Castel and Marco Raffine coloring pencils. I love having various types because to me there isn't a "best" there is just the right pencil for the job.All those higher ends including Staedtlers Ergosoft are fantastic. Marco Raffine is a mix between student and artist grade in my opinion. But all of those are softer core and for fine details I had a lot of frustration. So I got this set of Staedtler Noris Club and love them particularly for my Lost Ocean coloring book. There are a lot of tiny lines and details for that coloring book and the harder core of this set keeps a very sharp point and very little breakage.Yeah, the colors will be more muted- less pigment in a 10 dollar box of student grade pencils. But I found that layering the colors works out lovely. A lot of control with a harder core. It is a different coloring experience with each brand. They all have their place to shine depending on what you are doing. I found that these can somewhat blend. But mostly best if layered. That way you aren't pressing down hard which is bad for wrists and the paper no matter how thick.Anyway, if you do a lot of blending and need a creamy or buttery type of pencil this isn't for you. But I think they are good to have set aside for more detail work. I will definitely order more of these.

These colored pencils are inexpensive yet high quality. The outside is shiny coating that's fun to hold. Just holding them makes me feel creative. The color core on the inside is coated with some white plastic that reduces breakage. They are your basic colored pencils, so the core isn't extremely soft and you can do a lot of light shading work or dark lines. They do not have erasers on the ends. It performs like a pencil and not a pastel hybrid. Great value for the price. I would recommend it as a starter set gift or for school work.

I got these for a rather clumsy friend of mine that wanted an adult coloring book.I refused to get anything less than one of the best brands, and it just so happened that they have a brand that has the pigment core protector in a larger color size.As stated by others, the colored pencils are light but vibrant. You can always keep laying the same color to make it more saturated, but these are an artist's brand colored pencils. The majority of the people that purchase them want them so that they can easily layer and transition colors, not color in an entire section with a single color. If you keep that in mind as you are making your selection, and you consider how you work/create/color, then I believe that you will be able to know if these are right for you. They certainly were for me, and I know for a fact that I will be buying Staedtler products again, as I have been purchasing them for many years now.

These are great pencils. I am somewhat new to coloring in coloring books. It is amazing how relaxing and therapeutic it is after a long day at work. Now that I have tried it, I am hooked. I looked at a lot of different pencil choices and decided to try these. I am glad I did!! They colors are beautiful first of all and there are enough colors that I have all I need. The pencils color with a very smooth finish. They do not easily smear. I even really like the feel of this pencil in my hand. They sharpen nicely and are easy to sharpen. They might cost a little more than the pencils you usually find in places like Walmart and Target but they are worth the extra few dollars. I am really happy with the way my coloring pages turn out using these pencils. I would definitely buy these again and highly recommend them. Anyone who needs to unwind at the end of the day should try coloring! You might be amazed by how much you enjoy it.

Love my Staedtler Noris Club!!! They are a harder core, non-waxy and for a beginner like me, not bad to blend with. The 36 count gives you a pretty good color selection, there are times when I wish they came in a larger selection like the very expensive derwents and prismacolors. I bet they would be a huge seller if they gave a larger range of color. They are definatly better than Crayola in the fact that the cores do not break everytime you look at them. They sharpen to a nice point (that will break with too much preassure like with all pencils) to get into the tiny areas you may have to color. All in all I will buy again when the time comes to replace these as they were down, but I am predicting that to be a while from now. Happy coloring everyone! 🎨☺
