Audio quality and volume is 70% of what you get with the BTECH models. Worth if if you get them at half the price. I keep one of each in my go bag.

I got this speaker mic to use with my Baofeng HT radios. It seems to be sturdy enough for most ham radio use cases. The 2-pin connector fits into the radio properly. To test it, I transmitted on one radio while listening using another radio and compared the audio quality to the doing the same thing using the HT’s built-in microphone. For all practical purposes, the audio sounded the same using both microphones. I also compared the receive audio from this speaker mic to the radio’s built-in speaker and it also sounded fine.

I tested this with a Radioddity GD-88 so I could see how it worked with digial modes. I also tested using a Retevis RT76P on GMRS. The microphone worked well on both radios. I did find the speaker to be kind of quiet in both analog and digital modes. The microphone however was quite clear and worked as well as the built-in mics on both radios. Signal reports were very good and the microphone sounds quite clear on the air.Construction of the microphone is from decent quality plastic and rubber. It has a very solid click when activating the push to talk button. The spring clip on the back rotates to fixed positions and seems to have quite a strong spring.Overall, a great remote speaker/microphone, although, again, a little on the quiet side. However, you can easily plug in an earpiece and listen to that.
