Very light, easy to inflate. The pump that comes with it is sufficient. Not difficult to inflate like a paddle board. Very compact to transport. Looks and feels sturdy to last a few years. I’m 5’6” 200lbs and I was very comfortable. I did not put the black seat/ carrier where the seat is and with my “pfd” on I was very comfortable and felt like my back was well supported.

I love this kayak you should 100% get one.Easy to pack , store and put together. Must own for solo kayakersBrought 2 of these kayaks, each lasting about 3-4ish years. The material just seems to get old and wear out. Eventually some random leaks will appear. And patches never lasted more than half a season for me. 5 years is probably the longest you could get from this kayak. The Bottom material did great and we dragged over rocks constantly. The top materiel never punctured even with a small but surprisingly dense 35 lbs doggo walking around on themIf you are a solo kayaker this is a must have, I would frequently hike up to a creek and kayak back to my car. And this kayak is prefect for that.Took this thing down some class 3 and one class 4 rapid a few times. I nearly died on the class 4 but the kayak held up great. Would not recommend anyone else do this, or have life insurance if you do.Bc the kayak has a lower price point it has some draw backs:The seat is a alright back rest but don’t expect it to support whole upright adult torso.Paddle is terrible so Go ahead and save yourself the trouble and buy a separate paddle. the included paddle will 100% break during the first kayaking season and your gonna need a extraThis kayak Does not track well and the light weight means you don’t have much momentum in calm waters so expect to paddle harder than your friends with regular kayaks.Despite the draw backs I still 100% recommendation this kayak over other similar inflatable kayaks.Overall 10/10 starsLove this thing , not prefect but it’s great for what it is

As soon as I saw that the manufacturer was Sevylor, I paid attention and purchased one because I have had one of their inflatable dinghys for more than 25 years as my ship-to-shore and anchor placement transport with never a problem of any kind. My first test of the K1 kayak just occurred this morning and Sevylor totally lived up to my expectations…and here is why you may wish to listen to me.I’m just turning 79 and for 75 of those years (yes, since the age of 4) I have been a serious sailer and power boater all over the U.S. and Europe as well as a canoeist and kayaker on both flat and white water from New England to the Rockies to the West Coast. For more than 20 years I have used a Perception for white water and a Hobie for flat water on the West Coast, the East Coast, and many places betwixt and between and dearly love them and the fact that the Hobie paddles, pedals, and sails…truly wonderful thing. However, I am now old, puny, and needed another kayak that can fit anywhere including a car trunk and can be easily transported on my back to bodies of water more challenging to access such as remote mountain lakes. The K1 seemed like a possible answer but I was concerned with how well it would perform as well as inflate, breakdown, and fit once more in the back pack. What I found was that the inflation process took me 15 minutes the first time and 6 minutes the second time. Each fold down process took me about that same amount of time as well and it actually did fit easily into the back pack. I also noted in a review I read that someone found it challenging to thoroughly dry and clean it before folding it up but the simple solution for me was to give the top surfaces a quick wipe down fresh out of the water with a little bar rag carried in a pocket before deflating it and then wipe down the bottom surface after I deflated it as I folded it up. No problem as you can see in the attached photo allowing me to return home with no further clean-up required. In terms of performance, my first concern based on reviews I read was how squirrelly the K1 would be but I found that it tracks very well (what I couldn’t see in the Amazon.com photos were the two skegs fore and aft on the bottom which are a great help) and is also very stable because it is beamy. At the same time it maneuvers quickly and well. My second concern regarding performance arose from reading several reviews that mention the apparent inadequacy of the paddle but here again I found it to be perfectly acceptable and therefore did not feel any need to use another one of my paddles. There are three negatives I need to mention: First, the back pack turned into seat is uncomfortable in my opinion. It hits me awkwardly in mid-back and there is no means by which to tie the top edge in place. The life vest helps overcome this. Second, the straps and flaps that retain the folded up kayak in the back pack could in my opinion be better designed. Placing the kayak carefully partially alleviates this. Three, the three plastic hooks at the corners of the triangular net are very difficult to take out of their slots once installed. They will probably loosen up with use.In conclusion, I appreciate the compactness, light weight, and quality of the K1 plus believe based on my experience that Sevylor does a very fine job of designing and manufacturing inflatables that are seriously excellent…and no, I don’t have anything to do with the company.

Brilliant in the sea, great value for money, easy to inflate/deflate and stores nicely in the car.

I don't normally write reviews but I read many of them before purchasing this kayak so decided to pay it forward. I wasn't sure an inflatable kayak would be for me but all hard kayaks were out of stock in my area so I went for it. This kayak works much better than I expected. Inflating it was very easy. When I first saw the pump I thought it would take forever but it inflates on the pull up and the pump down, went very fast. One criticism is that it tells you to inflate to a certain PSI but the pump doesn't contain any PSI measurements so there is no way to do that. The kayak worked great on the water. I felt very secure and didn't feel like it was going to go over. I am 5'4" and 200 pounds, female and top heavy, well bottom heavy too probably. I did get more water in the kayak around my bottom than I expected. I might have not had it inflated enough. Easy to steer, easy to stay on, great storage area for my dry bag.Main criticism-the paddle is junk. It fell apart while I was paddling. I luckily had already ordered another based on the reviews and it arrived the day after my first adventure out with the bad paddle. Also there is a cupholder on the kayak but it is right up in your business. Not the best place to put a cupholder, should be slightly farther away from the crotch area. The holes to inflate the leg/foot area are right under your thighs. Not comfortable. I found them to be very uncomfortable. I didn't have them pushed down all the way so it may be me but if I can't get them down all the way in the future, I will put a small towel under me probably. Last issue, the seat. The seatback/backpack is not sturdy at all. You can't put your weight back on it and have it stay in place. I found that putting my lifejacket behind it gave me more support and was quite comfortable. I don't wear a lifejacket while kayaking so this was a good solution for me. If you wear yours, you might want to invest in some type of seat, I had trouble finding anything for an inflatable though. So overall, very happy with my purchase and loved getting out on the water. Just get an extra paddle for sure!
