I cut my OEM cable during a sharp turn. Bought this one to replace it. Opened the junction box on the original, and found a mess. Decided to cut the old cable 18" from the junction box and then route that stub cable into the new box. Get ring lugs for the wires, then they just slip onto the color coded bolts and won't vibrate loose. Found one connection not used (backup lights) and one wire did not work. I found that when the cable was cut, a fuse blew under the hood. Replaced that fuse and all works as expected. Delivered on-time, as described and worth the money. Make sure to test your placement. My placement was almost too far away to be workable.

This is a good product for the price plenty of room to expand and add all the things you need. I like the holder for the 7 way also so you can protect it from the elements my only complaint is that it does not have a gasket on the cover to ensure no water penitration but a bead of silicone in the channel and let that dry before putting it on solves that

This is as advertised ,I needed to replace my cable after I accidentally cut during backing up my RV AND Quick shipment allowed me to change out whole box and cable with just 3 or 4. Basic tools. I took a cellphone photo of old wiring connections before removal and the new box replaced the old box in same spot on the frame. I like the new kit because it came with a 7 pin cable end holder the I bolted to my rv propane plastic tank cover so the plug end when not attached to my truck can be stowed out of the way facing down not collecting water when it rains also is has self tapping metal screws to attach to other places or new trailer frames, inside boxes come colored coded and prewired and has clamp harnesses for hold wire bundles securely inside the box . This has eliminated wire breakage at the connector. I tow trailers daily on the ranch and i'm always having to stop and do light maintenance. The schematic that comes with the product is useless, but a quick google search makes the wiring easy. I usually find a broken wire right at the connector but where the wires flex during a turn. Yes, it's a little expensive, but the time saved doing maintenance and avoiding a ticket is worth it.

One of the pins on the 4 flat connector of my boat trailer snapped off. I ordered a new 4 flat connector but then found out there were actually 8 wires in the bundle (3 white, 3 brown, green, yellow). Decided to get one of these and switch to a 7 way connector. Attached the junction box to the trailer. Ran the original wiring in and attached clamps to each wire (and added some caulk as you can see in the picture). Attached to the posts. The colors are different between the two but you can find the mapping online. If I remember correctly it was green to brown, brown to green, yellow to red, and white to white. All the lights work properly and the 7 way is a much more sturdy connector than the 4 flat.

Really like this product overall. Well built, easy to mount and pretty straight forward to install if you have some mechanical ability. Lots of you tube videos that use this product or very similar. Nice touch is the holder for the 7 pin connector... instead of it lying on the ground when your trailer is disconnected. My only dislike and this is probably just my application....i could have used a 10ft cord... and a bit of water proofing...but I plan to shoot some silicone when I final assemble
