I bought this to fit my hard rubber s6 v16 and it fits. Could be a little bigger but it works. Also, might just be placebo but, it makes my mp feel more responsive. Take that with a grain of salt, I'm a beginner to the saxophone.

I Love these ligatures. I can't believe that I've gone without them for so many years. I have slim Jody Jazz metal mouthpieces on my soprano and alto saxes. Some of the Rovner ligatures designed for hard rubber are too big for slim metal mouthpieces. As it turns out the soprano ligature also fits my alto and the alto fits my tenor! This was a great discovery.

Bear in mind that this will not fit all mouthpieces. If you play a Yamaha 4C it works but, if you play a thicker mouthpiece...like a Syos it won't fit properly. The overall quality of the ligature is as goods as other Rovner products. Nothing to complain about there.I did not notice any difference in the sound, volume, or tone when changing between the different configurations ("flip of the flaps") as promoted by Rovner. Overall I am pleased with this product.

I have this Rovner ligature on all my saxes and it works every time. I have a million ligatures and most of them don't fit perfectly on any mouthpiece - unless it's the ligature that was made for that mouthpiece.I had to get this one to fit a custom mp from Soprano Planet and for the one day I played before my horn broke, I sounded like a god.

In a rare sober moment, one of my jazz friends recommended this ligature for my Yamaha 4C mouthpiece. I have never been a fan of leather or rubber clamps but this one I like. In my experience, I usually run out of threads before the device runs out of stretch. No so with this Rovner. It actually looks like it was designed to hold a reed on a mouthpiece. Remarkable! I like the way it fits the mouthpiece and how easy it is to position the reed. I like that I feel the vibrations in the horn and not on my teeth. I like that it only cost me about twenty bucks. I highly recommend this ligature.

This ligature isn't as good as I thought it might be. Certainly adequate, but not special.

This is a great ligature. I use it on the Selmer mouthpiece that came with my instrument back in the 1980s. I could probably go upmarket on the mouthpiece, but this ligature really makes the mouthpiece perform. Playing is lighter and easier and I can play more subtly than with the old traditional ligature. As shown in the image, there is a bar that slips into a metal clip. The ligature comes with two such bars or different thicknesses. The thicker bar gives a darker sound. I prefer the thinner bar, which gives a brighter and rounder sound (for me). I can darken the sound by other means. There are two ways to place the ligature on the mouthpiece. The recommended "inverted" way works best for me, putting the metal bar and its holder flat against the reed. The single pin makes it easy to adjust the tightness.

Great for doublers!!!! I love the tonal nuance achievable with this ligature! It is also really fun to play with the different combinations, especially when needing to be able to switch from light, bright sounds, to dark heavy ones with every combo in between. A word of caution: give yourself time to adjust... priot to this, i played on an inverted rovner dark (flat against the reed) and with the versa, there is a lot more mass near your chin, not a bad thing but something to get used to definitely. Also, while this fit on my Selmer C*, it took a little trouble to get on and off. I would recommend the V-1E (advertised as Eb clarinet but fits much better on my C*) Also comes with the awesome Rovner cap! Highly recommend!
