Put the unit on a table and use your thumbs to soften the sand. If too much sand on one side, hang up and work sand down. 8lbs is kind of heavy so you may want the lighter one at first. Velcro strap is very heavy duty = should last for years of use.

Initially, I thought the 8lb weight was too heavy for my neck, but it's as heavy after you strap it on your head. Neck movements are easy. After a few minutes of bobbing and weaving, you will definitely feel those neck muscles at work. Good quality product too.

This is the best thing. Walk around or stand or balance on one leg with this on your head. I have terrible neck pain and tend to have pulled muscles that keep me from moving my head. I regularly got my neck adjusted before I ordered this. This might be too much weigh if you are a smaller person. If so, wear it for a short time on top of a baseball cap. I would say stand up straight for about one minute. Then later that day or the next add 30 seconds. I walk around the house with it on for about 10 minutes. Or I wear it for a few minutes then take a break and put it back on through out the day. The important thing is to build up to a set time. I have had this for awhile now and use it every single day. My neck pain is gone and I notice my range of motion is increased. If you are super strong you might want the heavier one. It is easy to use and made of heavy material.

I have been using this neck strengthener for 2 days now, it is good quality, the velcro strap is strong and I am able to tighten it to fit around my head with no issues. Here is the warning: It is heavy, I do not see a way to remove weight and if you are not used to this kind of weight, have neck issues, in physical therapy, etc. you need to be very careful using this. I do not know if I will keep this, I am concerned that I could injure my neck, shoulders or back more.

I recommend this product. I'm not a workout freak. I just wanted something to strengthen my neck because I was having neck pains from too much computer work. So I got this. I have never used similar products, but this one seems very good. It's 8 pounds so I was glad it was heavier than all the others I researched. It's well-made and stays on your head. I can feel it working very fast when I lean back a little bit, or even roll my head around very slowly like a stretch. It provides a very good workout in a passive way. You don't have to put all this effort into lifting something. You just lean back or at an angle, whichever way you wish to strengthen, and you will feel your muscles really work. It felt great to me because I'm used to sitting long hours at a desk and only utilizing the muscles on the back of my neck. This gives me an excellent and relatively effortless way to get an intense workout on the muscles I never use, the ones on the front side of my neck. This has helped my neck pains tremendously, and even alleviated stress as a result, since everyone knows that so much tension is carried in our neck and shoulder area. I do recommend this. The picture doesn't make it look like anything special, but this is a quality, heavy-duty product so don't hesitate to buy.

I have a bad neck and I bought this product to strengthen it improve my range of motion and eliminate neck pain. I can tell the difference after one day. I already have more range of motion, less pain (no more cracking!) and my neck muscles even feel denser. It's very convenient; no need to attach weights, quick and easy velcroe adjustment and it allows for resistance on all neck movements. It's also comfortable, though I usually have to take it off and let my scalp breathe after 15-20 minutes. Although, I imagine it's much better than those other neck strengtheners that require weights and could double as midieval tourture devices or bondage equipment.
