Exactly what I needed to revive a worn out pump and cost less than $30!

Everything needed was ther to rebuild this jet pump. The impeller is updated to metal mounting threads for the shaft. This alone resolved problems at a reasonable cost adding longevity to this pump

This worked great in our “home hardware” pump.

Great buy. I wasn’t too sure about a couple things, like how much to torque down on the two halves’ four screws. Also, should the replacement of four screws be done in a gradual rotating way so as to evenly torque it all around. I assume yes, but red lion kit installation video doesn’t show it. After some searching, I discovered the tool to remove that one pc with is actually a sparkplug wrench. The white swirly pc wasn’t clear on how to situate it. Initially I found it difficult to remove the two halves after removing four screws. A YouTuber suggested you break it at the this little groove location. But seems suspect. But it got me thinking, when I reattach two halves, is there a trick to it. Or just tighten four screws? I assume there is no trick to it. Anyway, these are all relatively trivial matters and most handy ppl will not even ask them. Once I got the unit running, I found a leak or two. Hard to say, but I think tightening down the four screws a little more may have helped and I don’t see any leak there currently, but the pump originally got hot after losing prime. The drain hole with plug located below inlet started leaking. I will try reinstalling plug and should be fine, but makes me wonder if anything going inside. I did not replace the kit pc that requires sparkplug socket wrench. Hope it’s not damaged. Actually no PCs appear damaged from overheating episode. But, after I changed out the inside PCs with kit news ones for the heck of it, the pump sounds slightly noisier than before. I hope everything got installed properly. Could be some damage from overheating. Only problem with kit itself so far is that it appears I am missing the o-ring closest to motor. Maybe it will show up later.

Did the job perfectly. I used the video that is shown with the item on Amazon. It took one hour and it was done. Don't forget to fill up a sink to clean the parts because once the pump is dismantled, you don't have water anymore. I bought two, so I have a backup for next time. The pump makes a lot less noise and does not trip the breaker anymore. A lot cheaper than a new one and less waste in the environment!

Unfortunately the water line between shallow well and pump broke causing mud and rocks to be sucked into the pump. After repairing the water line, the pump could no longer hold more than 35-40PSI. Upon tearing it down the thermoplastic impeller had a sliver of plastic melted off. This provided everything to rebuild it. Be careful taking it apart and replacing the parts. I watched a few videos to help, although there weren't many good ones. All in all about an hour for me to repair. Once everything was hooked up and primed the pump easily got to pressure for me, 65PSI for my setup.

Not all the parts are needed, not sure why kit includes an extra white plastic O Ring. Also, nowhere do they include specs for reassembling. I guessed 40 ft/lbs when tightening. No leaks for me, and it didn't break.

Worked as expected. Great to have a Pump that's is repairable. So a big Thank you to Red Lion. Because this was a brand new pump that had run dry. Felt good to be able to repair it without buying a new one. I will be buying more red lion pumps.Repair took only about half hour. Be patient when separating the motor from pump head. I use a hammer and block of wood to slowly tap around the pump head off after removing the four bolts holding it on. I removed the venturi with the hex on a spark plug socket and a pair of channel lock pliers.Easy job for anyone. My pump went from being unable pump even 1 psi to like new again. One more tip. Always replace the pressure switch with low pressure shut-off switch by square D. I always do except for this one and I regretted it of course. Those switches will save your pump should your well or tank go dry or a line break that causes your pump to lose water pressure.
