Real Avid Bore-Max Speed Clean System: Patches Refill Packs

Speed-Clean

Less Effort - Faster Results

Bore-Max Speed Patches are part of the Real Avid’s Bore-Max Speed Clean System for faster and easier bore cleaning. Specifically designed to work in tandem with Bore-Max Speed Jags, the patches are optimally fitted for maximum bore contact and no-bunch bore cleaning. This means a cleaner bore with less pass throughs. Less effort and faster results. The 250-count Refill Packs come in a reusable, organized storage tray with lid for convenient storage and packability.

Bore Max Speed Clean

Bore cleaning doesn’t have to be a chore

Real Avid Introduces Bore-Max Speed System
  • FASTER RESULTS
  • LESS EFFORT

Bore cleaning might be tedious and laborious process, but it doesn’t have to. Real Avid relentlessly invents solutions that make the job easier.

Don’t neglect your bore cleaning - get it done right and get it done faster with Bore-Max Speed System.

Why Is Bore Cleaning Important?

Fouling in the bore negatively affects riffling and robs the barrel of its accuracy and consistency. Some corrosive residue can also cause irreversible pitting and degradation in bore surface.

There are 2 major types of residue accumulating in the bore:

  • CARBON which caused by burnt powder
  • COPPER which is left behind by the projectile.
Copper and carbon build up in layers

As the layers of carbon and copper harden, they get difficult to remove.

  • Carbon needs to be scrubbed mechanically by a brush
  • Copper must be chemically dissolved. Scrubbing and applying solvent leaves crud that needs to be wiped off with a patch.

Innovative Shape Patch

The rectangular patch covers the corresponding Bore-Max Speed Jag completely. No overlapping, bunching material means consistent, tight fit in the bore and more crud cleaned with each pass. One Bore-Max Speed Patch can do a jab of 4 small, traditional patches.

Perfect Fit

Jag and patch are sized together to perfectly fit the chosen caliber. No more guessing if the patch is going to fit or which jag to use. No more fumbling with patches that fall off a jag or get stuck in your bore.

Absorbent Patches

Synthetic micro fibers are superior to cotton patches. They trap more dirt, soak in more solvent and don’t leave lint behind.

Convenient Storage

Refill patches are packed in a well-organized, reusable storage box.

Always Together

Speed Jag and Speed Jag Patches are specifically designed to work in tandem for a precise bore fit. Do not use in combination with other jags or patches. If you run out of patches, buy Bore-Max Speed Patches refill pack.

I typically like/love Real Avid products. I own most of their stuff. To be blunt, these suck. I spent more time cleaning the broken patches or stuck jag out of my barrel than I did actually cleaning it. The patches would break apart where you speared it and jam up in my barrel. Wet or dry. I broke my Real Avid carbon fiber cleaning rod trying to get the jammed up jag out. I've switched to a parker hale style jag from Scheels, 1000% better after I figured out how to wrap the patch..

These are used to help finish the job of cleaning the bore on your gun. They get more dirt and solvent residue out per pass, and make getting the job done easier and faster.

The brush is good. Normally I run a bronze brush through the bore 2 or 3 times, a nylon brush 8 or 10 times and use a jag to push a patch through. I repeat this 3 times. Using the Avid brush, which is stiffer, I only repeated the process twice, saved 33% of the cleaning time. I am not impressed with the provided jag. Using the provided patch, it is not as tight, so it doesn't seem to be as effective as the jag and patches I usually use. Also it is harder then the brass jag that I usually use so after pushing the patch through the bore I have to remove the jag from the rod before I pull it back through or I'm afraid I may damage the crown on the bore. I would recommend the brush but not the jag and patches.

They seem a bit loose in use. After following directions and cleaned my .223, cleaning until the patches come out clean, I ran a couple of toghtregular cotton patches through the bore and they did not come out clean. These patches may work well if you are cleaning after just a few shots, but after a ,match where you may shoot from 50 to 100 rounds in 3 or 4 hours, they just didn't perform to my standards.
